The teachers and office staff are all very helpful, and the sense of community is apparent. The YMCA Primetime after school program is also one of the school's greatest features. Mr. Riley, the director for the program, has helped both of my siblings discover a passion and talent for music."
"I'm very surprised that the principal of Taft has not acknowledged the hard work that the volunteers have put in improving the dirt area next to the driveway on Gramercy. The Friends of Ruffin Canyon have spent several Saturdays applying mulch and cleaning that area. Maybe Joe hasn't noticed the improvement. I noticed."
"I only attended Taft for my 8th grade year (2012-2013), yet I can say it was the best year of my life. My 6th and 7th grade years were a massive struggle for myself. I was a terrible student, had a bad academic record, and did not live up to my potential. But it was at Taft, it was at this school that my full potential was unlocked. I couldn't do it without the help of the excellent teachers. The 8th grade Science, History, and English teachers especially. I went from a misbehaved, less than stellar student in the 7th grade to a straight-A top of the class student. I wouldn't have been able to do that without this Middle School. And to that end, I can only say thank you."
