Camp Cuyamaca

"My 2nd year at Cuyamaca Outdoor Camp was just as ⭐️ AWESOME⭐️ as my first. The staff is wonderfully caring, supportive of our students’ needs and a whole lotta FUN! It was an amazing week of hiking, exploring, team building and just being in nature! I can’t wait to come back next year! Thank u everyone!"

"SEND A SAFETY INSPECTOR PLEASE!! My son came home (along with 50+) students sick. If there was an outbreak of illness, why keep the kids at camp? He said that the camp was old and dirty. The food was disgusting and inedible. On top of it, he felt like he was imprisoned for the entire week. I received a phone call from the director, which made me feel uncomfortable as a parent. I tried several times to call back and left 2 messages, however no call back. Now, my son is traumatized from the camp. What went on there is my question?? Please think twice before sending your child."

"My daughter had an amazing experience. She said the food was good and fresh. I was worried before sending her because I saw a few recent reviews that were saying how horrible their experience was. I think those kids must have been trying hard to make it seem bad, because my daughter said every counselor she encountered was very nice, her hiking guide was very nice and experienced. A nice gentleman named Sam from New Zealand. She said her cabin counselor was super nice, played music that the kids liked and requested, and even told stories and had them do breathing exercises at night to ease their anxiety and help them fall asleep more easily. I am so glad and relieved to know that everyone was kind and treated my daughter and her classmates well."

"yo this place was doodoo ngl the toilet had a squairl bathing in it and there was freakin wood and grass everywhere like how bout cleaning up the place, not to mention the trees all around my cabin I felt like someone was watching me from the trees"

"I went here a few years ago. My experience was unfortunately not good at all. The staff really didn't treat anyone kindly. It's sad to see it from an adult prospective now. Even if a child doesn't do anything wrong, and wants to have fun the staff will constantly yell, and make fun of them. Of course this isn't exceptional, however even worse is the food. Yes it should be expected that some children will get sick. However there is an extreme amount of children getting sick after consuming the food. From what I recall, all of the milk was expired, and whatever pulled pork they served was too. Many children choose to go vegetarian here, because the meat makes them sick. Sixth grade camp should be a magical learning experience. Unfortunately it is a dangerous place, with terrible staff."
