"I guess I'm just sharing this because I have been chewed up and spit out by the workers comp system and no one is hearing me, so I'm just trying to get a sense of agency anywhere I can. I had high expectations because I was referred to this firm by my tenant lawyer whom I trust. They took a few days to get back to me, even though I was told someone would call me that day. I can't remember the name of the lawyer who called me back, but she was not kind to me in my vulnerable state. I understand not wanting to take my case or feeling that it is not worth your time, but I would expect someone who deals with workers comp to understand how people are gaslit, tricked, and made to doubt themselves under this system. Dealing with workers comp has been one of the most devastating events of my life. Talking with this lawyer just reinforced all of the ways I've been abused under this system, it almost felt like she thought I was faking my injury just like everyone else has so far. This injury has affected my life so much, to where I can't even do the things I enjoy. I guess the whole point of this review is just to say that I wish I had been treated with a bit more compassion. I really don't know what I am going to do, I have already been feeling so hopeless, and the lawyer I talked to just added to the stress of this awful experience. A workers comp lawyer is the last person I expected to make me feel this way. If anyone else is going through this system and is being made to feel like you aren't really injured and you're just trying to get money I am so sorry. I wish for a better world for all of us."
