"Be prepared that if you open your home to a loved one in the CSP program in Dunn county, that the social workers will be treating you and everyone in your family as tho you are a suspect in a crime, and will disregard and disbelieve everything you try to tell them in regards to what your loved one is experiencing during the transition to living with family. The social workers are trained to see natural supports and bio-family as nothing but trash, no matter what extent you go to, to prove that you are trying to help your family member. Wendy Winger is pretty amazing tho. When we made her aware of what was going on, she did her utmost to address it. Unfortunately she just does not have the staffing needed to root out toxic & damaging social workers. It is really pretty sad... The social workers in the CSP program go out of their way to make your disabled love one believe that their minds are soup, while they are the ones steadily dumping in the carrots, celery, and onions. If Wendy had proper funding, and her team had proper training, it could really be a wonderful program. As is, it may be doing disabled people and their caregivers more harm than good. I hope this doesn't prevent anyone from attempting to open their home to a disabled family member, but you need to know that you will be treated as if just your being willing to do so, means (to the poorly trained social workers) that you make bad choices and cannot be trusted. If you happen to be raising your own small children while attempting to be a caregiver for someone in the CSP program, you need to know that the social worker's ineptitude and bigotry against those experiencing mental illness or autism, has the potential to harm your own children as mine were harmed. The only silver lining is that the program is voluntary, so when you have your disabled loved one settled in and they feel safe enough to drop CSP, they can do so. Wendy was absolutely fantastic and supportive with my loved one when they recently made that choice."
"I went with a friend. The person we saw was very helpful. She couldn't help us but went out of her way to get us the information to reach the right people."
"If I could give 0 stars I would. My kids are on truancy. There's 2 workers that work with my 2 kids. Not sure why there is 2. They will schedule appointments and then cancel...EVERY SINGLE TIME. They don't respond to texts or calls. The only way to maybe get through to one of them is to call their manager. I've had to plan my day accordingly for them to cancel everytime. Oh and there's another one her name is Danielle. She told me that taking a kids phone away isn't an appropriate consequence. Very terrible place"
"There is nothing humane about this place. I had to deal with these people in a chips case. They didn't treat me with any compassion. I was targeted in this case. Everything I did was criticized and used against me. Drug tests were falsified. Supervised visits were set up at times they knew were unattainable. I was revictimised by them over and over again. Ultimately, my parental rights were terminated, my life was crushed, they helped with nothing. Not before, during, or after."
"The woman who answers the phone is extremely unsympathetic and generally awful. She will spend more time trying to prevent you from getting through to anyone but her and she refuses to help or even listen. She just raises her voice and if you don't concede to how she thinks you should react, she has absolutely no problem being flat out rude and sometimes seemingly nasty or just hanging up on you in your time of need all together. Try to get a direct line to whomever you are trying to reach because this woman is absurdly awful, especially for working where she's at. One might think that taking a job in human services that you may have, or at least develop, a bit of compassion or at least common decency. Alas, I have been shown absolutely no mercy by this woman. It's really frustrating when you're just wondering who can help or how to get the help that you really need and this woman effectively c*** blocks you at every turn. It's unnecessary and uncalled for. I seriously hope this woman finds the peace she needs."
