"Go literally anywhere else. This man is trash and it is my personal mission to not allow him to hurt anyone else. He called my hip issue a cosmetic one when I was a teenager and caused me years of pain by disregarding me. I suffered multiple complications from his careless misdiagnosis and am disappointed to see he still practices at ucsf pediatrics. Doctors are not all knowing but as a specialist you expect more. Protect your kids. Please ask questions, get a second opinion and do not let this man tell you your pain isn’t real or that your problem is “cosmetic”. No lawyers will file against ucsf or their providers as it is incredibly difficult to prove misdiagnosis or mishandled care, so there is no paper trail as to what they do wrong. You have to advocate for yourself and research. Highly recommend Amir Jamali in Walnut Creek if you’re looking for a reputable doctor who is compassionate and knowledgeable."

"Got my scoliosis surgery back in 2015 at UCSF. Dr. Diab was amazing. He literally saved my life. With a 90% curvature most doctors said it was too risky and a high chance I would be paralyzed but Dr. Diab is very skilled and professional and helped me and my family a lot by keeping us informed and answering all the many questions we had. 10/10"

"I think Dr. Mohammad is a highly skilled orthopedic doctor. He saved my daughter from a lot of pain from a preventable surgery with his knowledge about scoliosis and her predicted growth. He literally wrote the book on Richard III. As a doctor, he is impeccable."

"I don't believe Dr. Diab has the ethics, demeanor, or professionalism required to be a physician, especially a children's physician. He accused my father of being a racist for wanting to get a 2nd opinion (on a major surgery that I wouldn't expect anyone to take lightly). We ended up sticking with Diab and going forward with the surgery, without seeking a 2nd opinion. He then asked me at a pre-op appointment, when I was alone, if I wanted the surgery for "cosmetic reasons". I hadn't thought about it. I was getting the surgery because it was explained to me that it was essential, otherwise I would eventually become extremely disfigured and die. Of course I don't want to become disfigured! He responded by telling me, "That's what I thought. Americans are shallow." I was 14 years old. Surgery left me with the appearance of someone who has kyphosis (never a problem before surgery), so I don't personally consider it a success. I also had to have a second operation one year later (different doctor fortunately, Diab had relocated) to have infected hardware removed. I would absolutely NOT recommend Dr. Diab. If you seek out other reviews, you will see this unprofessional, uncomfortable behavior isn't uncommon. I'm so upset I never spoke up before, when I was 14, but I can now and I will! Also note: he is serving 7 years of disciplinary probation with the state of California (until 2020) for inappropriate sexual conduct with a patient. And he still collected kickbacks ($$,$$$) from a medical equipment company. Nice! Maybe use the money to buy some integrity!"
