"I would have given 5 stars but after spending a week in a behavior unit my discharge was horrible the Dr didn't sign my discharge and it got worse from there. I'm on medication and dr didn't ask what pharmacy I used he said he didn't see it in my information so he sends it to one close to the hospital that are closed on the weekend and I am not able to pick it up til Monday plus I don't live anywhere near there. Just got off the phone and dr is not willing to go into hospital to fix his mistake and call my prescription to my pharmacy so now I have to wait til Monday (it's Sunday)but I was released on Sat 530 Dr's don't care anymore. It's only about the money he could have avoided all of this and just sent someone to ask what pharmacy I use Now I go un medicated until I can get this worked out I rented a hotel last night because I thought it would get worked out this really sucks"

"Being my first time admitted into a psychiatric hospital I was a tad bit anxious as to what to expect, I knew I needed to be there but unsure of well, the unknown. I was very impressed by the calm and caring staff and atmosphere, and my mind was quickly put at ease. I would like to thank not just the Nursing staff that overlooked my care, but all the staff who treated me respectfully, and was never unwilling to help when I had a question or request, making my stay that much easier to get through. I appreciate you all very much and my mind is in a better place now due to all of you."

"I've had many many stays at SMV and have always been given the best care. The nurses are kind, treat you as a person (not just a patient) and truly care about you. I'd like to give a shout-out to Rhonda on EW1 for always going above and beyond for me. They feed you well and often, the food is decent for a hospital, and there's always snacks if you're hungry. There's lots of visiting hours, so it's nice to see loved ones while having to be in the hospital. I hate when my condition warrants a hospital stay, but if I have to, then I highly recommend Mesa Vista."

"My mother was admitted to SMV from an ER to the senior behavioral health unit. She was having exacerbation of symptoms. At SMV, my mom’s nurse was Jay. When my confused mother (dementia) arrived, nurses asked us to give them an hour for the admission. My sister and I went home to get my mom warm clothing and toiletries and came back to see our mom after about an hour. When we arrived, mom was panicked, severely confused and disoriented but Jay was standing with my mom therapeutically and professionally communicating with my mom, patiently giving her reassurance, redirecting and distracting in a very gentle manner. My mom who is Irish/Italian can get severely agitated and verbally aggressive at times .. oftentimes without warning or trigger. I felt relieved that my mom seemed to feel receptive and was deescalated because of positive, kind, respectful, supportive sincere demeanor. I felt so very very grateful, impressed and relieved that my mom was being treated and supported by such a professional psychiatric nurse. I’m not just saying this as my mother’s daughter but I’m posting this review because I have been a psychiatric crisis stabilization RN and have had many many years of experience in psych and know when a nurse is going above and beyond. If I could give Jay and SMV 10 stars I would. Thank you SMV and Jay, I can sleep tonite knowing my mom is in good hands. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"Highly recommend! I took my loved one here while they we’re having a psychiatric crisis. They were able to get us seen quickly and everyone I encountered on the phone and in person was friendly and professional. I did read some reviews about people being rude but that was not my experience. I am very thankful for this place. Food was great and my loved one didn’t have any complaints. The facility is secure and they do a great job communicating with care partners and loved ones. They also accept Medi-cal which was great. Thank you so much to Sharp and the team."
