"I was made to wait 45 minutes on hold to be told they had lost my record and I would need to get a referral from my primary then a doctors appointment with them in order to get my prescription refilled. This is the epitome of bad service and I am sorry Dr Sperling sold out.. M"
"My doctor ordered an ECHO in mid-December from MarinHealth. I was supposed to wait for the clinic to reach out to schedule this test, though nobody did. So I called before Christmas and spoke to a receptionist who told me there is only one person who can schedule appointments for new patients, but that person was unavailable and would call me back "that afternoon." I explained that my situation was urgent because I was laid off — and my insurance would soon be lapsing. That call never came. A couple days later, I called again and left a voicemail for this one individual who is responsible for all new patient scheduling, nearly in tears, explaining that I'd lost my job, that my insurance would only be valid for a particular window of time, and that if the test was performed without insurance it would be a hefty out-of-pocket expense. She still didn't call back. I followed up just after Christmas and was told by another receptionist that the reason I wasn't called back is because the test order did not include a "pre-authorization from my insurance," which they needed from the doctor ordering the test. I contacted my doctor who confirmed that no pre-auth was needed, but submitted a second order for the ECHO on 12/29 that included that note. In the meantime, I contacted my insurance who confirmed no pre-auth was needed. I followed up with MarinHealth the next day who said that they couldn't schedule the appointment because they also needed a "reference #" from the ordering doc. I called my doc back and she had no idea what they were asking for and assured me both orders were complete. In the meantime, I had her submit the same ECHO order to UCSF. I called UCSF that day who immediately scheduled my test, stating that they did not need an authorization or reference number of any kind. Given that doctors don't recreationally order ECHOs for young, seemingly healthy people, I'm flabbergasted that MarinHealth made it impossible to schedule a basic cardiology test — especially given that another practice was able to schedule me immediately based on the same order that had been sent to them. I will never go to MarinHealth for any care unless it's an emergency and I have no other option."
"This medical group is more concerned with making money then they are for their patients. It is almost impossible to get through the automated phone system to talk to someone and when you leave messages, usually they are not returned by anyone. The requested I get a heart monitor installed (Looped) next to my heart to look for Afib--but when I went in to see how what the results were after 5 weeks, I was told they saw nothing. 2 weeks later the manufacturer called to tell me that it had not been monitoring since they put it in. No one at this center had checked at all--and then they lied to me. After that, they charge you and your insurance for monitoring cost of the device--every month, until you give back the equipment or have another procedure to have the loop removed--years of income for them. One time I got a call back that they saw something--but I could not get anyone to call me back. I recommend you find any other place than this one!!!"
"What a terrific medical group. The physicians, nursing, reception and care coordinators are so efficient, kind, caring and thoughtfully direct. Though very few people would wish to need cardiac care, however, if it turns out you do need cardiac care... this is exactly where you want to be!"
