New Mandarin Restaurant

"I was there on January 30th. The food was super hot and the service was quick! What was supposed to be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside was! I was actually pleased that the food was brought out as it was finished being cooked...one entree at a time. I knew that the food was fresh. The food was so hot that it didn't matter the entrees were brought out one at a time we still had to wait for the food to cool down to eat it. I was VERY pleased with the price for the amount of food we received! We were not from the area, came from UP NORTH, I don't understand the bad reviews, maybe the people who wrote the bad reviews are competitors or happened to go on and off day? We have to come down to Minneapolis area again and on the way back we are definitely stopping! BTW we have a lot of Asian Cuisine... Fargo, Duluth, Brainard Area , St. Cloud and all points in between!! So we know!"

"It’s a good place for the price. I got chicken chow mein and it was good but not at all the flavor I’m used to from other places - it tasted like beef stew but with chicken? Good though. Sweet and sour pork was good, not my favorite sweet and sour sauce but still enjoyable. I liked the fried rice a lot but the egg roll was different in a way I didn’t like, also dry and not juicy. The wonton soup was my favorite - best I’ve ever had! Not too salty and a good, clean broth with green onions. The people were nice and the place felt calm. Overall, I would go again but it’s not my top pick :)"

"Great food, the service was blah, the atmosphere was almost non existent with the counter looking like a thrift store with everything from Sarracha sauce to knick knacks for sale..the outside of the building had pulled weeds in a pile on the sidewalk..it looked a bit run down, but the menu items and food was very good. So, if your just looking for a bite to eat with no cares about atmosphere and surroundings thos is upir place, and don't forget to try the Chili oil in the condiment jars at the table...total fire!!"

"This place has been such an amazing stop. For years and years on end, they never disappoint. Friendly staff, great home-cooked like meals, and excellent prices. They'll remember you if you visit often enough. Suggestion #1: The Pho. Clean broth, great selection of Pho types and they even have fish sauce on the tables. I only eat Pho at places that have fish sauce on the table! Suggestion #2: Bun bo Hue. Step up from Pho. When you're ready to elevate your palate. Robust flavors similar to Pho, but spicier, strong lemongrass flavor, and beef. This just needs a squeeze of lime and some chili. Suggestion #3: Wonton Egg Noodle. Add a dollop of soy sauce to the broth (no lime) and some spice, bam. You have yourself a nom nom nom dish. I tend to get this dish to go as they don't have red vinegar or sesame seed oil. That's how I grew up eating this type of dish, but a little soy sauce and spice can still satisfy. Enjoy!"

"The chow mein, egg rolls and cream cheese wontons are our favorite. I'm not a fan of the chicken they use, and wish the lo mein was more flavorful."
