"We had a great experience here. The staff is incredible, specifically the outside service staff. Chris, Sean, Sol and Josh were superstars. They were always ready and remembered our names with a smile. The calamari was fantastic and the burrata was delicious. They are doing a great job here providing an authentic experience for visitors and locals."

"My best friend and I came here for a staycation through the American Express luxury hotels booking system and I’m sad to say we were disappointed with our experience that came with a $500 a night price tag. I was apprehensive after booking because immediately after booking I emailed to request a room with a bathtub and received a very cold and unhelpful reply. Despite the potential for a 12pm early check in the room we had requested, both the original and the “upgraded” replacement room they offered were not ready until 4pm. When we got to our room we were disappointed to find we could not access the minibar (no key), no courtesy water bottles, no robes, slippers, extra blankets or amenities kits. Again, we were frustrated when upon ordering room service we were surprised with a $10 delivery fee AND a 25% surcharge? The elevator and hallways were dingy and the aesthetic of the room felt dated. While the common spaces were nice and overall, the staff was very friendly and apologetic it didn’t feel like a 4 star experience. You might enjoy the hotel for its proximity to the village and beach but I wouldn’t roll the dice on this place. The price tag doesn’t match the experience and I wouldn’t recommend it."

"The location is great. Not on the beach but a couple 100 yards that are an easy walk. The hotel is rather dated and definitely has some wear - it does not feel like it's been refreshed in quite a while and needs it. All of my interactions with the staff were fantastic. The staff is friendly, polite and attentive - really top notch. Bed were ok. A bit old. The pillows worked for me but my wife didn't like them because they were too soft. The only real complaint was the food. We ordered the Thai wings from the bar and several of the wings were raw/red inside. And a little pet peeve is that the "Champagne" they offer you at check in is really a cheap Sekt, not Champagne."

"This hotel was exceptional. Elegant, yet comfortable. Homey, but classy. The staff understands the meaning of hospitality for sure. I felt like a welcomed guest in someone's home. The room was well-appointed. The view from the room was beautiful. I had requested some glasses and a bottle of whiskey be placed in our room for a surprise when we returned from an outing. In addition to that, we found some brochures, a map, a cute box of chocolate, and a hand-written note with kind words for us to "enjoy our stay." Room service for breakfast was delicious, and the order was confirmed with a phone call and accurately prepared. The lox and bagel breakfast was art on the plate and tasted as good as it looked. There were so many pluses about our stay we feel the need to go again and stay longer next time. Most definitely a five-star experience from check-in to check-out. Staff members Hadia and Shawn helped make the stay wonderful."

"An exceptionally memorable and elegant experience that will linger in our memories. The rooms are generously spacious, offering great views, and the staff is welcoming. With quality food and drink options on-site and a swift walk down the hill to the ocean, it provides all one needs for a luxurious resort stay in San Diego. The service, from check-in to check-out, was consistently exceptional—thank you to the entire team!"
