"Are you guys the folks who renovated the Viking in Newport a few years back? Please. For the sake of all of the hotels in your growing portfolio. PLEASE. fire your designers. These guys took a lush, historic hotel and tried to redesign the interior to look….wait for it…. Modern. They stripped the accents, painted everything white. I’ll pretty sure they removed historic fixtures and crown molding. Why would you take the *defining characteristic* of a classic hotel and just throw it away? Instead of capitalizing on it? You need a design company with designers who are actually educated and have some talent. Believe me, I love modern. This? This was just cheap. They did the cheapest, easiest thing they could. And it shows."

"These guys destroyed our favorite summer hangout by renovating out the charm, sending prices sky high and lowering the standard of service to the point we all had to ask...why go back? I was quite embarrassed when I convinced my family to have a reunion at Hotel Del and was shocked at the changes. They even turned the reservation experience into something akin to buying a used car. I am very glad to see that hotel's management shift to another firm and am left to hope they roll back the decline initiated by KSL."
