"This is a great hotel, we stayed here for a night due to a major storm back in 2022. Rooms were clean (seemed brand new) and front desk was friendly. Haven’t had a preference for hotels ever however if chance allowed I would’ve loved to stay here again. Haven’t been able to stay since they’re not pet friendly. However if that changes, I’d happily take a detour to stay here."
"Very clean and well run hotel. I am a business traveler and this is better than most of the Hilton and Marriott properties I have experienced. (130 nights per year total) Great (free) coffee machine in the lobby means no 20 minute lines at Starbucks."

"Cleanest hotel I’ve been in and I am picky about cleanliness. Staff was amazing, especially Scott, who let me switch my room for a better view. coffee and breakfast were wonderful (for a free breakfast.) Don’t let the slightly vacant Main Street and run down town appearance scare you off…I preferred to stay in a quiet town and drive into Bakersfield then stay in a noisy city. So glad I found Taft! Nice walking trail and historical park behind the hotel. Unfortunately I didn’t get to eat in any restaurants but they do have several fast food chains and some local ones that Scott was happy to have listed if you ask. Really loved my stay!"
