"EXCELLENT Rooms at an Amazing price! Enclosed pool and hot tub allowed us to enjoy the hot tub during cloudy weather, the in room ceiling fan and wall heat kept us cool and warm. The beds are SUPER comfortable, shower and bathroom are large, and... WINDOWS THE OPEN for the room and bathroom allowing the lovely ocean air to pass through your room! You can literally hear the waves crashing at night! Grab a quick bite at the Big Sur restaurant next door for a discount as we did! Best bang for your buck!!! Will return!"
"Clean, very comfortable beds. The pool and spa and grounds are very well maintained. But the main reason we'll go back was the amazing service, shout out to Veronica and Danny, and all the housekeeping staff, y'all are the BEST!!"
"As a frequent road tripper between LA + SF, hands down, the Silver Surf Hotel is the best spot to lay your head! The rooms are neat and cozy and the staff is very friendly! I asked for a few more coffees and towels during my stay and it was easy-peasy! Also, taking in a hot tub session is great before hitting the road again in the morning. Awesome stay every time!"
"There is no AC. There should not have to be AC in October, but they left the heater on, there was no way to turn off unless staff unplugged it internally, and our room clocked in at 90 degrees at midnight. It was untenable. The front desk would not answer. When we finally did talk them about checking out, they said they had a 48 hour checkout period and we'd lose our money. Worth it to get a room at a different place with better staff and normal room temperature! They are understaffed and do not respond if you need anything, let alone if they have untenable room living conditions."
"Quick facts: The buildings are old, but our room was freshly painted and very clean. The mattress was much better than expected, everything in working order, although the fridge is on the old/weak side. Didn't use the coffee maker since we brought our own. Turntable in the microwave didn't work, but the microwave itself was fine. The beach is across the highway, but not too far. There are several places to get drinks/snacks and several restaurants nearby. There is a lawn area in the center of the buildings which people used to play games, walk their dogs, etc. Looked nice. The beach nearby allows dogs which was a plus for us. All in all, will come here again."
