The Shelter Cove Oceanfront Inn

"***Worth the read ***(Edited) Owner is greedy and does not care for your safety. Offered to remove review if they made things right and they would not, so here we are. Booked for 5 days, MASSIVE, record breaking snow storm happens, physically impossible to get there…. will cancel our booking but we have to pay for one night, $244. Seriously. We’re from Kentucky, we’ve been to this hotel before and loved it SO much we decided we wanted to spend our anniversary at the HOTEL. Our kids were really bummed so we’ve also promised many more trips in the future…. We were seriously loyal to you but now we see you’re very greedy. Record breaking snowstorm and you care more about being paid than the safety of your visitors? “You were booked for 5 days, just come in a few days and push out the reservation” RECORD BREAKING SNOWFALL WILL NOT DISAPPEAR IN A FEW DAYS. It’s not like we’re local and it’s too late to change our flight. Here we are 4 days into our trip and the news is saying we still wouldn’t make it, but the hotel says we could? So…. Gamble and drive 5 hours to TRY and make it or play it safe…. Sad. Shame on you, owner. Your actions just lost you a loyal customer from Kentucky who RAVES about the hotel and travels ALOT. Gave 1 for the hotel because it is amazing and we have been here before. Greedy people will have no business of mine. (Photos are what we’ve been following to determine trip plausibility)"

"When we finally arrived at the hotel after one heck of a drive. The host was very pleasant. She was extremely informative and very helpful. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a panoramic balcony. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean. The waves crashing all day and night was one of the most relaxing experiences we had. The hot tub in the room was great as well! Not far from the Inn. There is an adorable lighthouse with a quick stroll down to the beach. Tons of sea lions, harbor seal and sea birds reside nearby. All in all great place, great view and a fantastic time!"

"We absolutely loved staying at the Inn. We were in room 24, which has a fantastic view of the ocean and a jetted tub that was so nice to climb into after a long day. Donna was very friendly and helpful. I love staying so close to the ocean and I'm familiar with the wear and tear that happens when a property is subject to constant humidity, salt, etc; you can tell this property is lovingly cared for as they battle the elements. Room was clean, the bed comfortable, the location remote and peaceful. Exceeded our expectations."
