Bay Front Inn Hotel 325 Pacific Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

"Paid way too much to stay at a location with so many issues. Room was dirty and falling apart. Door didn't want to stay closed. Handle from the outside was broken. Light in the restroom was hanging, bathtub was dirty, walls had marks on them. Only place to sit was screwed to the wall. Not enough parking in the lot. People had to park in the street and wait for someone to leave so that they could park in the lot. There was only 1 outlet available to use to charge phones. Don't pay more then $50 bucks to stay here. Had to give $100 dollars deposit to stay. Didn't know about until I checked in."

"Made my reservation online, when I tried to check in I was told there was no reservation, even though I have the confirmation number. They reserved a room for me but was told it was not ready till 4pm. I returned at 4pm and was told the room was still not ready. They guy at front was rude and seemed irritated that I was how long I had to wait. I finally got a key to my a room at almost 5pm, walked into the room and it was still dirty! Bed unmade, towels on the floor!! Definitely will not be returning to this place."

"I booked a room for 2 nights, ended up staying 1. Hotel itself is fine but I have a big issue with how things were handled: 1. I called multiple times to book and no one was available so I had to physically go and book. 2. I had to check out by phone since no one was at the office when I left and did not stay the second night. 2.a. when I finally got a hold of them, the front desk staff said they "maybe" will refund me but a late check out fee will be charged (first of all "maybe?") 2.b. the staff implied am individual gets to decide that, the property manager; so you don't know? What's the policy? 3. It's been a week and I have yet to hear from them. 4. Window covers are wood and don't cover the window fully, so I had to hang something to feel safe in the privacy of my own room. Hence the 3 star for that. So, for a cheap hotel it's pretty nice and clean, but expect to need to herd cats to get things done. Maybe mine was an exception but I'll need to chase the manager of the property to ask for my refund; so I will not be staying here again."

"THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY!!! Beware!!!! They do not give you back your “deposit room fee” I have called and called and called no one will call me back nor give me my money back. This is not okay. Give me my money back…… My husband, daughter, and I stayed here for one night. For paying $378 we expected a little something better then what we got. The room is super dirty. Turned our feet black with dirt. The walls had dirt on them. There was a ball of hair left in the corner of the bathroom. There is almost never anyone at the front desk to help you. Our check in time was supposed to be at 3pm, but when we tried to check in we were told to come back in an hour…Parking is a problem. They don’t even promise you a spot if you have a room. It’s loud. People slamming doors, yelling, and skateboarding around. The location is great because my family and I were able to walk to the beach and restaurants no problems. We will not be staying here again."

"We had a great overall experience here. Only minor issue, a man claiming to be the pool maintenance, came into the pool area at approximately 3pm while there were 3 families in the pool. He dumped in an unidentified liquid and stated that it was chlorine. There was 6 people in the pool, 3 kids and 3 adults. Everyone exited the pool because this was obviously not something that should be done. It was brought to the attention of the front desk and manager. She was very kind and mentioned that she would look into it further. The county is in charge of maintaining the pool and not the hotel directly."
