"Me and my partner arrived to Hotel Solares around 9:30 PM at and the staff was very helpful. They require a $100 deposit that will be refunded after you check out. I received the refund almost instantly after the trip. The hotel lobby was very nice and so was our room. I found the rooms to be spacious and clean with everything you need. I enjoyed the balcony as well. It was very quiet at night. I will definitely be returning on our next trip to Santa Cruz!"

"Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The walls are thin! It's an older property but it is well maintained and the rooms are well stocked and welcoming. Breakfast was disappointing - bagels, yogurt, apples, mandarins. Dogs are welcome and there is a small area for their bathroom needs. You cannot see the ocean but it's within walking distance (10-15 minute walk) to the boardwalk and wharf. Very happy overall with my stay and felt the price was appropriate for the lodgings."

"The breakfast and coffee were advertised and non-existent. We only had the room to sleep in after a night of fun by the boardwalk. Had to leave early to continue our trip. For our purposes, it was OK. I don't recommend it if you're trying to lounge there and relax."

"We arrived around 11pm, but the staff at reception was very kind and helpful. The room was nice and spacious for 4 people. The pool was also nice. Only bad thing, parking smell was not the best, but who cares when you have a nice room :)"

"This place is its own oasis right in the middle of it all. Beautiful secluded courtyard with pool, hot tub, and relaxing seating area all under strings of twinkle lights. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Most have balconies. I always stay in the King Suite because of the vaulted ceilings, walk in closet, and giant soaking tub. Stay here, you won't be disappointed, and you will go home rested."
