Smiles In Motion

"We have been going here for a couple years with nothing but great experiences. Our kids love the prizes at the end and the friendly atmosphere. Recently, we had a change in insurance and due to previous experience with out-of-network dental providers, we checked with Smiles In Motion a month in advance and again the day before. They told us they were out-of-network, but they work with our insurance all the time and that "it would only be a few dollars deductible". During the routine cleaning, they had suggested and did x-rays for all 3 of my kids. At no point during the visit, did they tell me none of this was covered and even afterwards when I scheduled my kids in for future visits, did they tell me then either. A few weeks later, we received a bill for over $700. We called our insurance, they told us everything was applied correctly. We called Smiles In Motion, they told us that is the amount we owe. After some back and forth with a lot of frustration, they told us they could do $75/child. There are plenty of other dental clinics in town that take our insurance. Had we known it was going to be over $700 or $225, we would have taken them elsewhere and actually paid a few dollars. The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because my kids looked forward to the prizes and they at least tried working with us in coming to a solution. If Smiles In Motion is in your network, I highly recommend them. If they are out-of-network, please go elsewhere. It's not worth the headache."

"We love SIM, the staff is absolutely delightful and patient, they're knowledgeable and explain things in a way that is easy to understand. Dr. Helms is wonderful and we never feel any kind of judgment that seems to be a stigma around the dentist. My 2 older kids (16 & 4) actually look forward to going to the dentist and my 1 year old had an amazing, tear free first time dentist vist. I couldn't recommend this office more."
