Valvoline Instant Oil Change

"Bad experience. I use Valvoline IOC a minimum of 6 times per year. I pay $100+ each time to get a full-synthetic oil change. This will be my last. They don't drain oil using the drain plug any longer as there is too much liability in cracking an oil pan. With that said, they suck out the old oil and I question whether the bad oil is sufficiently being removed. Also, is this a manufacturer approved method of doing and oil change? I've never seen this method listed in an owner's manual. They removed the oil by sucking it out. I'm not a fan due to an unclear understanding of whether the old, dirty oil and contaminants are properly being drained from the oil pan. Then upon refill, they didn't put in enough oil to properly register on the dipstick. It barely registered past the low oil level mark on the dipstick. They said that after driving around it will clear filters and screens and the oil level usually comes up. I'm not buying this story, but I agreed. I told them that I had 10-15 minutes of driving around the area to do and I could check the oil level when I got gas, shortly thereafter. When I checked the oil level, it was still low. I returned to the Valvoline IOC location and said it's still low. They checked it and yes, it was low. They added 1/2 qt of oil and the oil level registered in the middle of the dipstick. Perfect. They then proceeded to charge me for this extra oil they just added. I find that pathetic. I paid over $100 for an oil change in which they didn't put in enough oil and then charge me again to make it right. Complete nonsense. I don't like their new method of oil removal and furthermore, I'm extremely unhappy that I was charged extra to top off a low oil level that they had me leave with. Waste of my time and money. I will find another oil change chain to get my oil changes done at in the future."

"I used to come here for all of my oil changes. Recently had an issue with my oil pan cracking during a change. They were able to pay for the repair which I am very grateful for! However, I have heard this happens quite frequently at this location, unfortunately. Good place for a quick oil change but be mindful that this happens!"

"Had a car that had been sitting at my aunts for months, took it to go get the oil changed here and due to the car having critter nests in the engine my engine bay started on fire while pulling into Valvoline. They rushed out with fire extinguishers and their quick reaction saved my engine. Brady could not have been nicer or more helpful. Car was towed to a repair shop and deemed drivable, so I took it back over and got the oil changed and they did a fantastic job at that as well. These guys are top class and truly go the extra mile."
