"Best beer and liquor prices in a 2mile radius I can say almost say for sure. I like to price shop to keep businesses honest with me, but good service and decent prices is what keeps me coming back to J&H."
"My first and only time there, so my critical foundation is limited. The good: open at 9:00 PM, well-lit, and the man behind the counter was attentive and let me slide for 15 or 20 cents rather than insisting I break a twenty to pay the exact total. The bad: none of the bottles of vodka I was looking at had posted prices, so I had to ask the man about each one I was considering. Then, having had to ask for help, I was taken aback by the actual prices: $16 for a PINT of Stolichnaya??? Not in my universe. The bottom rung vodka (Crystal, from Mira Loma) was priced in line with what other liquor stores charged. I like and understand businessmen who give back to the community by operating in difficult neighborhoods, often, as now, in particularly challenging times, and usually with limited profit margins. But I just wish they could so at prices more folks could afford."
"None of the prices match their display. You question the clerk he’ll play dumb act like he doesn’t know what’s going on. Then eventually he’ll go into no English mode. These guys are trying to sell all their backwoods at the $2.25 single price. Even the 3 packs and 5 packs."
