The history of the Wabegon dates back to the 1930s when it was first built as a residential home. Over the years, it has transformed into a beloved restaurant and bar, with various owners adding their own touch to the establishment. Now under the ownership of John Hartwick, the Wabegon continues to uphold its rich history while offering a warm and welcoming experience for all patrons.
In addition to the delicious food and drinks, the Wabegon is conveniently located near the Mission Creek Bike Trails and St. Louis River, as well as being adjacent to the Mont du Lac Resort & Ski Hill. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast on the weekends or enjoying a meal with friends and family, the Wabegon Bar & Grill is the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

"Food was absolutely delicious!! And the server/waitress was very nice The bar area is nice but the seating arrangements and the seats were a little weird. And the folks at the bar were really loud and obnoxious for an early Sunday afternoon. But the food was very high quality!!!"
"It was a bit unclear where this place was at first because we didn't see a sign on the building & it's down a dirt road near Mont du Lac. We sat outside on the patio, which is a nice option to enjoy the outdoors but nothing in particular to see. Inside was a typical bar/restaurant look/feel. Cheese curds were excellent right out of the deep frier. Reuben sandwich was delicious. BLT was surprisingly good for a more basic sandwich - loved the cranberry wild rice bread. Friendly service! Would come again!"
"I got amazing service here. If you want the fish fry during Lent, call ahead (or message them on Facebook like I did!) and not only make a reservation, but specifically mention you want the fish fry. The lady who I talked to was super accommodating and not only set aside fish for me, but even saved me a baked potato! Several other disappointed patrons either left or had to order something else because they were out of fish; this was around 7 pm. I overheard a server saying they planned to order way more fish for the following Friday, though. The fish was done just how I like it (crispy and not overly battered), and their homemade tartar sauce was yummy. I also enjoyed a Spotted Cow on tap. Being "the only bar in WI you can only get to from the MN side" makes this place unique. It has a nice, typical WI bar feel to it so if that's what you're looking for, you won't be disappointed. My husband described it as "in the middle of nowhere," which I think adds to the experience :D This place is bigger than it looks when you first walk in, as there's a dining room separate from the bar area. Highly recommended!"
