"Our HOA couldn’t get a contractor to fix our broken gate. I drove to the Sonoma store the owner took the time to show me the basics of how to solve the problem. I usually don’t leave comments, but I was impressed with how Josh provided enough DIY insight to help our association solve a lingering problem for less than a tenth of what contractors wanted (if they would ever would even come out)."

"Josh - hero! I took on a gate project never having done one before. We’ve built columns, mechanicals and controls on other projects but never a gate. Josh was there whenever I needed help. Customer service par excellence! I’m sure he rolled his eyes a few times but he was always patient and helpful and I’ve appreciated his thorough knowledge of the products and installation. Don’t miss this company if you’re a pro or a DIY person...great company and great service."

"The quality of the products and the price are both excellent. However, I found the woman who took my order on the phone acted as if she were doing me a favor to sell me a gate kit. An even bigger problem was when it arrived there were NO detailed instructions for assembling the posts and gate. When I called to complain I was directed to watch a video on their Website. While the video was helpful, it is not a replacement for step-by-step instructions. (Seriously, if I buy a $70 bookcase at Wal-Mart I have detailed assembly instructions. The same ought to be true for a $2,800 gate kit. I found myself running inside at least a dozen times while I was assembling the gate to watch the video. Very inconvenient. While there were written instructions for the opener that was provided, I found these instructions vague and at times inconsistent. Parts were included that I did not need, yet there was no way I would know whether they were needed or not. It's really a farce to ship someone a complex gate kit and assume they can assemble it without any instructions."

"I have had 2 bad experiences with this company. We ordered the motor on Thursday and paid $167.50 for overnight delivery because we needed the part on Saturday for installation in a security gate. We thought all was well due to the crazy price of shipping, but when I called on Friday to confirm they said Saturday delivery is not an option for them. This process happened in email and I asked them to cancel the order before it had shipped. My email shows I canceled the order 23 minutes before the product was processed by UPS, then she responded to me the moment it was processed. My email show the timeline and the tracking number shows the time it was processed. Once it arrived it was already to late for installation and was rejected for return. I contacted them and spoke with Josh to try and explain the process and work through the return, but as I was speaking I was rudely interrupted and not allowed to finish a sentence. He then went to attacking me and accusing me of saying they promised something that they hadn't. I had to raise my voice to get him to stop talking so that I could explain what was happening. Multiple times he interrupted and would not let me finish a sentence. I replied by telling him if he would not let me finish my sentence I would need to speak with the manager, at which point he informed me that he was the General Manager. We went round and round and I told him I would send him the emails and he would get back to me. When he called back he told me I was wrong and continually interrupted my sentences in order to stop me from sharing the evidence I had. Even though my email clearly shows I requested to cancel the order 23 minutes before it was processed he was adamant that I had it all wrong. If this is the way their business is run I will not do business with them and I encourage others to search for other businesses to purchase their gates/gate parts from."
