"I saw Dr. Liu recently. At the beginning of the appointment he told me I didn’t have cavities but said I needed a deep cleaning. He said he suspected I had bone loss. He sent a lady over to tell me how much the deep cleaning would cost. I said I’d have to think about it. The price was in the thousands. She crossed out the number and put a lower number and said they would offer me 5 additional cleanings through the year, if I agreed and lowered the price. I told her I don’t think that would make sense as I’m relocating in June. The doctor came back and said I needed to get the 5 cavities filled. He sent the lady back over and she said, he will do the fillings right now, it will take 20 minutes and instead of 100, you can just pay 50. At this point, I was getting really nervous and suspicious because initially he made it seem that I didn’t really have any cavities & now all of the sudden when I would do the deep cleaning, I had 5. I left and googled what a deep cleaning is. I didn’t feel like I was even close to a candidate for deep cleaning and knew I needed a second opinion as that’s a pretty intense procedure. I got a second opinion yesterday. The dentist said I did NOT have 5 cavities and he DID NOT recommend I get a deep cleaning!!! I literally almost paid thousands of dollars for this deep cleaning that he said I needed (that was unnecessary) AND got 5 cavities filled for teeth that did not have cavities! I was completely sick to my stomach! I’m warning you! Do NOT go to this dentist! He’s also apparently under investigation on the board of dentistry website!"

There are 8 pages you can view on the Dental Board of California, search under license #59346, his name and location in Chula Vista California. Click: ACCUSATION. This dentist has been practicing without a proper dental license. Dr. Liu violated the standard of care when he failed to submit complete dental records to the board during the investigation. Unprofessional conduct-practicing under fictitious name without a permit. In the ACCUSATION you will be able to see that the work he claims he rendered to my husband were all under malpractice. This dentist can have his license revoked or suspended or be placed on probation by the board for unprofessional conduct, or incompetence, gross negligence in his profession. MUST READ THE ACCUSATION!!! Otay Lakes Dental Group and Care Credit/Synchrony Bank are a fraud as they are working to scam patients. Our complaints of disputed charges have been going on for several years now. Care Credit lost our documents and they cited Otay Lakes Dental group. Otay Lakes Dental group says all services were rendered when in fact the assessment of the second dentist shows services were not rendered. Care Credit did not care about our disputed charges. We keep getting the runaround from Synchrony Bank stating it will take 90 days to investigate any dispute charges. It has been almost two years now. The Dental Board of California has concluded its investigation. The board is authorized to take action against any licensee found in violations of the Dental Practice Act, as well as unlicensed activity defined in that Act. Based on the information obtained during this investigation, the State board referred this case to the California Office of the Attorney General for the consideration of administrative charges against Dr. Quan Alex Liu's dental license."
