"I was transferred there from my local hospital for chest pain and was supposed to get a heart cath. When I got to a room and they put a heart monitor on me it took them about a hour before they realized that it had no battery in it. Then I set in the room for 24 hours with no food or drink, and no doctor telling me anything. It was then that I checked my self out and left. I will not go back."

"A 1 star rating is still too high for this place. My disabled mother suffering from a relapse due to her MS was mistreated by MULTIPLE nurses during her stay but mentioned only Amanda by name. This woman ignored her call light even though my mother is high-risk for falling because apparently the nurse light is just an annoying distraction to Nurse Amanda and other staff working on the 6th floor. While I understand that nursing is a difficult profession, it seems like this hospital will employ anyone. DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY COME HERE."

"I would give it a zero but the system would not allow me too. My father was transferred from Baptist Hospital to Jackson General on 11/29/23. He needed surgery on his intestines due to an illness he had. They ran all test said his heart was good for surgery. They finally scheduled his surgery for 12/04/23. Everything went good during surgery and the doctors stated he did great and they fixed what needed fixing but did have to do alittle more than expected. Come the following Tuesday I call to check on him they say he is having to get blood transfusions but could not explain why. On Wednesday I call again they tell me he needs surgery again to see where he is bleeding from. I am a ball of anxiety at thispoint. I get to the hospital and they bring him back up to the room due to his cognitive memory at this point. My father apparently had a blood clot go to his brain and do some damage. He could not remember things and he was scared to death. They told me he needed a cat scan stat, we kept waiting and waiting, finally find out they can’t do a cat scan bcuz the machine is broken. So they take him back for surgery then decide to move him to ICU so he will be looked after more. After this surgery they inform us he had a small cut thru his artery in his abdomen that caused him to loss blood. So he is put on the ventilator without asking his wishes. Thursday he was out of it, Friday as well but they removed the ventilator. On Saturday I was on my way back to the hospital to visit my dad, I kept getting this bad feeling so I decided to call while on my way. They informed me that his heart rate was going extremely too high, his bp was way too low, the put him back on the ventilator and strapped him to the bed due to him ripping his Ivs out. So once I get to the hospital I speak with the icu doctor, he informs us that my dad has blockages in his carotid arteries, his heart is too weak, and that it’s possible he will not make it. So we insist they tell us the events that led up to this and the cause, we find out that he apparently had heart failure when his heart rate went up so high, and he is now completely unalert. He had Medicaid and Vanderbilt wouldn’t take him and Jackson still couldn’t do a car scan to see if he had a stroke. So everything was in limbo. My brother and me decided to have him removed from the ventilator due to knowing his wishes. He passed away Sunday 12/10/23 at 5:00 AM. So much could of been prevented had they ran the proper testing on day 2 and stopped his internal bleeding on day 2. Of course they put he died of natural causes but that’s a lie to cover themselves. If you have loved ones take them somewhere that cares for their patients."

"My mom died because they just don’t care. Our first visit On Thanksgiving day, I brought my 85 year old Mom in because she fell down a week before, was weak, in pain, and confused. She has congestive heart failure and we have to watch her blood pressure closely. Her pressure was really high 255/ 100 something. They took her to a trauma room, ran ct scan and xray and found nothing. Meanwhile, Other emergency trauma patients came in and took precedence over her which is what the are supposed to do. However, after treating everyone else, they did no more than give my mom some Tylenol and sent us home without any other diagnosis or treatment. Dr C I guess felt like he was hero because took care of everyone else that day but he sent my mom home the same as she came in 6 hours earlier. She didn’t die or get any better until my daughter came in from out of town and helped me get her blood pressure down finally. I guess because she only has Medicare or maybe because she is 85 she isn’t important at Jackson General. Her health wasn’t as important that day as everyone else’s. This is the second time she’s been sent home this way, the first time was with congestive heart failure after having surgery there, she was so bad she couldn’t talk to me without getting out of breath and I had to take her back. There was one Dr there that day who cared, however, you just don’t know who you’re going to get when you get there. What you need to know when you go, is you need to have someone with you that will make the Dr. at least address and treat your deadly symptoms such as heart failure or anemia before sending you home. Someone less ignorant than me. I was dumb enough to not stay and make them help her!"

"3:00am in ED with my husband for possible kidney stones, can’t find a water fountain, informed to ask for water from personnel behind visitor desk that has a mini fridge that has a sign on it stating for visitors only( see pic attached), requested some water and was told that they were out of water, tried to use machine to purchase water myself and it wouldn’t take my card went to car to get cash to use came back and my husband had been given a cup for a urine specimen and still no water given to him, machine wouldn’t take my money, finally got my card to work and got my husband a water. They would let someone die from dehydration before they’d give anyone some fluids. Got to a room in good time, nurse came in very promptly and has been very kind and helpful. Sucks that your first impression has to be someone so rude at the visitors desk! Will update this review as this visit continues and hopeful completes soon with relief for my husband!"
