"Reading a few other reviews I am convinced that Al was trying to rip me off. Before I went to him I had two other places saying I needed a new axle and alignment would be impossible. He said he would check it out for free so I agreed. Said it would be 2 hours, fine. After one hour I came back to wait. Car was already out and who knows if he even checked it. He actually told me I needed 2 new wheels. I was happy because that was much less than a whole axle but I'm not stupid. I left and went to 3 more places and they all told me the same, I need an new axle and trying to fix it with new wheels is completely absurd. I can only imagine what his long-term plan to milk me was. All the tiger paraphernalia in the office should be a clue to anyone!"

"I went to Al's Auto for the first time this last week (June 29th 2013) and can't express how upset and disappointed I am with this establishment. I came to California from out of state with my wife, sister, and brother-in-law. We came to California looking to buy honda civic natural gas cars. Al happened to have a 1998 Honda Civic CNG at the time. We came, test drove the car, talked with Kraig and decided that we wanted to buy the car. We negotiated on price and came to an agreement (even shaking hands at one point). Our only stipulation was that we asked that we be allowed to take the car down to the nearest Honda Dealership and have them recertify the tank (CNG tanks are certified for 15 years so since this car was a 98 it needed to be recertified for another 10 years). Al objected and said he wouldn't allow us to do it. I stated clearly that we were willing to pay for the recertification and that we just wanted to get it done to protect ourselves, especially since we were driving the car home to Utah. Al objected again and Kraig cut him off explaining that it would be fine. After a few phone calls, we were set to have the Honda Dealership recertify the tank. Kraig told us to relax and go have lunch, they would take care of everything and give us a call when the car was ready. We walked away excited, went and had a great lunch, and started getting things lined up with our credit union back home which then had us go to a local California bank that they had a co-op with to print us a check. While at the bank getting the money for the car, my brother-in-law gets a call from Al. I assume that he is letting us know that the tank has been recertified and that everything is set and that we should head back to sign all the documents and make the payment. Do you know why he called? AL HAD SOLD THE CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE WHILE WE WERE OFF GETTING LUNCH AND GETTING THE MONEY AT THE BANK! I called him right after he got off the phone with my brother-in-law. He said sorry and that we were too slow. I told him he was a DB...because he is...and he hung up on me. That's my experience with Al's Auto. Please buy or have your car repaired somewhere else!!!!"
