"Bad Animal serves innovative, flavorful Thai food with topnotch service and great ambiance. They let us sample a few wines so everyone in our party of six was happy with their choice. We had the chicken, black cod and pork belly along with the tartare and glass noodle appetizers. Everything was excellent."

"OMG, just go. No. you’re not getting out cheap. The small plates run high teens / low twenty, the big plates mid twenty / low thirty. You’re not going to find the vibe fancy, it is a bookstore after all (though we loved it) that has that old Santa Cruz feeling throughout, not to mention a friendly and helpful staff. And while the sizes are not going to stuff you, the tastes are fantastic. BTW; The current menu showing online is not the same being served now, so I gather the details change every now and then, but it is still in the same spirit and price ranges. (And to the review below that thought it was overpriced street food that they’d pay $3 for, there is a Five Guys in the area and you can pickup up a little burger for $8 I’m sure you’d enjoy.)"

"How many more ways can I say YES!!! the new chef is superb, bringing great fare back into this amazing book shop space. Love the comfortable nature of the bar area seating and the completely welcoming vibe the staff provides. I know nothing about wine but they kindly walked me through the selection with simple/relatable concepts that allowed me to find a perfect choice (multiple times!)"
