Friar Tux

"Our son got married in hometown Ventura, but he already lives in Florida after graduating there. Our local Mission Tuxedo store in Ventura/Santa Barbara highly recommended Friar to us as ONLY you had the white tux with full black lapel that he wanted! From your corporate call back, to the manager at a store I inadvertently contacted, to the manager and employees at the Woodland Hill store we needed ... I cannot overemphasize how PROFESSIONAL and helpful they were at every turn -including offering early pick-up on our way back to Ventura from LAX flights- I feel like they were the ONLY PEOPLE/BUSINESS that was 2st century accurate and communicative! Thank you Friar!!!"

"Friar Sux. You want to talk about lack of accountability? You want to talk about not taking ownership or responsibility? You want a tux that doesn’t offer the right sizes for kids? You want a tux that gets tailored and still doesn’t fit? You want a company that doesn’t have the professionalism to include all the pieces of the tux that you’re paying for? Then they don’t even have the matching bow tie? Well, that’s 2 stars for Friar Tux in Lakewood. They at least made some effort to deliver - with a nonmatching bow tie - mere minutes away from all the groomsman pix. We couldn’t bother the bride or groom. Or their parents. I’m the parent of the groomsman. Take note: the other accoutrements delivered for our party were so flimsily put together with shoddy materials that the entire darn bow tie unraveled! Yeah, the average person does not know how to tie a bow tie. Re: my son’s bow tie, yeah that didn’t fit him either. Then this place is clearly struggling down in the OC. They weren’t open when I could have returned the tux on New Year’s Eve Day. Then factor in the one closest to us in Ventura County was out of business. So I drive an hour to go to Woodland Hills to encounter someone who was unable to provide customer service or address the multitude of issues. Don’t get me wrong. We had an amazing time at the wedding. This company didn’t make a darn difference. And what was really upsetting was that Woodland Hills could care less about Orange County or Ventura County. I used to live in Woodland Hills and have fond memories of this very shopping center. This TUXperience was the worst I’ve had in the history of TUXperiences. Friar Sux, indeed! *(Even the customer service of them trying to offer help to protect their Google reputation and “look good” was not real value. 1) They didn’t give me a legit email, rather a generic contact form. 2) Nor did they provide me a real name 3) I did reach out and it’s total crickets. Folks, this is exactly what I’m talking about. There’s something funky going on at the corporate level and brand is clearly damaged. All those high Google Ratings seem a little too good to be true, don’t they? I can assure you I’m not looking to troll here. That’s not my style. I’m a real customer, from a real wedding, and I had dinner last night with the bride and groom. Our entire family and wedding party had a poor experience. Do look elsewhere for your tuxedos at better companies who can truly deliver. (And as a reviewer, I make a point to be as honest as I can when I’m raving, and warn others when I’ve been wronged) Bad TUX-perience. Friar SUX, indeed. Aside from generating a full refund to our entire wedding party for the multitude of mistakes, there’s really nothing that they can do to make a darn difference at this point. The damage is done. The review stays. Review readers save yourself the headaches - both emotional and financial - and take your business elsewhere.)"
