"Not the experience I expected… low quality service “ professionals”… where did the once upon a time”superior customer service “ go…. Must be albertsons mentality…. Not to criticise any of the hard working staff,,,, just don’t expect highly knowledgeable union workers from the 70’s- 80’s-90’s….. maybe up to 2000. I did go through the check stand number 8: a very nice and professional man( Asian- 50ish) checked me through… he is a professional!! Pros: 1).good low prices on a good number of products…. 2).Location 3). Clean store Cons: 1).No qualified Butchers 2).No qualified Seafood counter employees 3).No sight of a store director or assistant store director 4). No superior customer service at all except the gentleman servicing the wine section( who said hello and asked if I was finding everything I needed- a blast from the past “ Superior Customer Service”)!!!…. And the Polite Knowledgeable Friendly Checker who checked me out!!"

"This is the type of service I expect in a third world country, not Burlingame California. Store and corporate management should be embarrassed. Horrible experience with Western Union at this location. I have visited this store five times this weekend. I was repeatedly told to come back as the employees on shift did not have access to Western Union, even though I arrived at the store during the Western Union posted hours. On four separate occasions I returned to the store when I was told to and they were not able to help me. This evening (5th visit now) I arrived during the last hour that Western Union was supposedly open and was told that they would have an employee on site with access to Western Union. The employee with access was on lunch during this last hour of access to Western Union, and for the fifth time I have visited this store and not been helped during normal hours posted for Western Union. It is my strong recommendation to stay as far away as possible from this location if you need to use Western Union. Why does this story even have anything posted 4 Western Union when they are so horrible at servicing this business. Dollar general is more reliable than this stores management!"

"I was amazed to learn that the produce section in this store is the worst I've seen in all seven counties of the San Francisco Bay area. And the cost of a shopping bag is 25 cents."

"This is for Safeway on Howard Ave In Burlingame. According to the Safeway weekly Ad, and price tags on the shelves the oroweat bread is buy one get one free. Checking my receipt on my out, I realized It was charged for both bread. I was helped by the male checker, the discount wasn’t showing on the register. I decided to return the bread and was given a refund. The male checker informed another female checker about the bread discount not working and left. The female checker, I do not know her name looked at me and yelled saying “WELL!! DO YOU WANT THE BREAD OR NOT”. I did not say anything to this obnoxious woman. I was leaving. I should have asked for her name and told the manager, but, got upset and left. Next time, I am at the store, I am going to find out her name and let the store manager know what she did . People with this type of attitude should not work in customer service."
