Pick of the Litter Thrift Shop is a charming store located at 1127 Chula Vista Avenue in Burlingame, California. Open for retail sales from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Saturday, and Sunday noon to 4 pm, this thrift shop is a treasure trove of second-hand items. Operated by the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, all proceeds directly benefit shelter animals. From clothing for women, men, and children to household items, art, jewelry, books, records, musical instruments, cameras, and vintage clothing, Pick of the Litter has something for everyone.

Donations are accepted through unscheduled walk-up drop-offs or scheduled drop-offs by calling the Resale Advisor at 650-490-4585. Accepted items include clothing, housewares, collectibles, books, records, CDs, art, jewelry, and holiday decorations in saleable condition. Furniture donations are on an approval basis only. Please note that items that are broken, damaged, dirty, or in poor condition will not be accepted.

Senior citizens aged 60 and above can enjoy a 25% discount on all merchandise every Tuesday. Keep an eye out for special sales, exclusive coupons, and events for thrift store customers. Remember, it is illegal to leave donations while the store is closed, and illegal dumping will be reported to the authorities. "Great cause but the prices are high for donated goods. I was also turned off by the security tags on ALL clothing, regardless of condition. The only criminal act I witnessed was the $7 price tag on a ratty old sweater. Much easier to just donate to the humane society."

"Wonderful thrift shop with special pet focus. Everything is extremely well organized. Lots of vintage items - clothes, household goods, etc. Special section for kids books and a small room with books for grown-ups. A large section of new and used items for pets. Great selection of carriers for pets. Friendly, helpful staff. Parking is metered and easy or more difficult depending on time of day. The store is on a side street off the main shopping drag."

"Lovely thrift shop with friendly employees. Lots of regulars here and the person working the register knew everyone. I found the selection better than Goodwill for non-clothing items. Lots of nice books, appliance items and seasonal items. They had some video games by the front where the pricier items were. You can still find some solid stuff towards the back, but all the nice stuff is at the front."

"great place, unfortunately it's hidden not everyone knows about it. Great selection of items, lots of animal stuff..(cages, play pens).. good selection of kitchen supplies. Place is kind of small and packed so may not see everything at first glance."
