"In my opinion, this is the best sushi restaurant in San Diego. It’s located in a weird location in PB, but worth the hype. This place is quite pricey, so know that going in. I highly recommend their agedashi tofu, crispy eggplant with spicy tuna and they make a really good salmon dish. I’ve loved all the sushi rolls I’ve ordered here. Definitely make a reservation if you plan to stop by, it’s almost always busy. The parking lot is tiny, so prepare to circle or look for street parking."

"Probably no one needs a Sushi restaurant review from someone who grew up in Connecticut in the 1960s and 70s (my parents thought of rice as "Chinese food") but for what it's worth, as an adult I fell in love with Japanese cuisine and this was the best Chirashi Sushi I've ever eaten. This place is all about the food and it was beautiful and fresh. I live thousands of miles away, but when I'm back in San Diego, this will be my first stop."

"This place used to my go to Sushi place in San Diego whenever I come to SD. The seats are hard to get. However, their sushi quality do not taste as good as before. Sushi rice easily separated with fish and rice texture and taste are far away from the past. Fried calamari it’s too greasy. Chicken teriyaki with too much sauce on top. Aji tataki doesn’t taste fresh and pcs of the fish meat were stick together. Good stuff - miso soup with clams still taste good and matcha cheese cake also very good for an ending. I hope they can improve their quality of food next time even we are not getting the seats at the sushi bar."

"we stopped here for lunch on the way to the airport as our friend told us to check it out before we left. we were happy with the prices, service and quality of the sushi. it was all very good. the place is located in a strip mall and is super very unassuming from the outside ... definitely worth a stop though! we really enjoyed the specialty rolls we ordered."

"The BEST sushi. Very affordable and the quality is just superb. This is equivalent to a fancy NYC omakase but probably only 20% of the cost. Cannot recommend enough. They have daily specials on top of their standard menu. Very packed in an understated strip mall with parking in front and back. Definitely make a reservation before you go. The food is absolutely delicious (I got two orders of the Kumamoto oysters coz they were so fresh!) and I would very much like to come back sometime. The only thing I didn’t like as much in comparison was the hand roll but the portions in the hand roll are massive - equivalent of almost 4 pieces of sushi!"
