"I went into the Lynwood Store today and tried to upgrade to the new iPhone 14. We were assisted by a guy and we mentioned that we wanted to upgrade and he began to tell us of promotions they had in the store. He told us that the only way to get the promotion was to add a new phone line but in the end we would still be paying extra. I kept on telling him I did not want to get the extra phone line as I would not need it and all of a sudden "they didn't have the phone in the store." I don't know if he was lying to me or not in order to just not give me the phone but it felt like a waste of time. He could have started with that from the beginning rather than just trying to sell us a brand new phone line. He already knew what phone I wanted and could have saved us so much time. I would have gotten a new phone number but couldn't even have the phone. And to top it off he answered a personal phone call while attending us and made us wait for that call to end as well."

"My husband & I went in to see about their trade in promo. We were assisted by Luis who mentioned to us he was a manager there. he explained to us the promotion which he stated was that if you trade in your phone you get up to $1,000 credit which would pretty much cover for “free” iphone 14 & if we wanted the iphone 14 pro max we would just pay an additional $2-$5 monthly on our bill to cover the difference as long as we did the 36 terms. I asked what I thought was about every single question I could possibly think of because I know the tricks to the “art of selling”. He even explained to us that our first bill was going to be the highest due to the prorated charges which I completely understood. What a surprise I had when I received my first bill! The first thing that caught my attention was the business line, I dont have a business so I wasn’t sure why I was assigned one. Then, I see that im being charged a monthly payment for each phone of over $25. After looking up At&t’s promo I come across some terms explaining that the trade in promo wont take into effect after 3 billing cycles. This was NEVER explained to us. The amount that I’m going to pay after my first bill is no where near what Luis had explained to us. It’s frustrating and disappointing that we were very clear on what we were looking for but ended up with a higher bill than what I was paying at Verizon. I will definitely escalate this with corporate."
