Lighthouse Oyster Bar & Grill

"Where do we start?!?! my wife and I dined here with mom yesterday and were greeted by our server, Chuy. What an ambassador to this establishment! He took care of us as if we were family. We enjoyed 6-oysters, clam chowder, calamari, taco, & shrimp fettuccine! All were outstanding. We also had the opportunity to meet Senior Chef / Owner, Luis, who is a wonderful and humble man! On our way out Chuy reminded us that the next day was a special on the oysters ($1.50/each). Which brings us to today… We came back for the oysters! We also had fish & shrimp tacos, lobster bisque and clam chowder, soup! Today we had Murphy taking care of us. He also was very attentive. I feel bad for the patrons across the way at (a chain restaurant)… why would you come to Oceanside, CA to eat at a chain restaurant when you can eat at a local family own restaurant? Their loss! Lastly, the atmosphere is wonderful. Nothing like looking out over the harbor while dining!"

"Best thing about this place is their location and view, hands-down. Although we have not officially dined here, we did stop by for happy hour. We sat outside on the patio at a table, but we could have chosen to sit in the uncovered part of the patio, at a rail using taller high-top wooden chairs. This area has a better, more unobstructed view so it's nice there are a couple of options for seating. For happy hour, which is daily from 3-6pm, they do have a menu with what I think are discounted menu items...but the prices still seem high. $15 for a basic cheeseburger with fries is the happy hour price? Draft beers are $8 and the couple that I had chosen were tapped out so I had to pick a third option. We really came for some oysters, and we're a bit disappointed to see they were not on the happy hour menu. Bummer. We still ordered a half-dozen ($18) and some calamari ($14). EDIT: I did see a sign for $1.50 oysters on THURSDAY, 3pm-close so I need to come back for that! The calamari is a bit strange, more like calamari sticks (see attached photo). They tasted good however, but the presentation could be made better. They topped a few straggly strands of lettuce. It did come with a dipping sauce, but no marinara or even a lemon. The oysters came with a lemon so quick save there. I would come back to try more food for sure, especially the oyster Thursday specials."

"Went here on a whim on a sunny Saturday. My wife made a quick reservation online about 30 mins before we were to arrive (absolutely recommended you doing this if you decide to go here last minute). Parking was a little packed in lot 10, a paid lot right by the beach. But the walk to the harbor was quick. Our reservation was honored and we got a great seat outside looking over all the boats. Had the clam chowder, it was fine but not my favorite. Friend Zucchini and the crab cakes were fantastic. The Zucchini was a huge portion by the way, great for sharing. We got the fried chicken sandwich with avocado and bacon. It appeared our sandwich didn’t have any avocado on it? But not a big deal. Bread was good and chicken was crispy and seasoned well. The view was great on a nice clear afternoon. We saw they had a taco Tuesday deal and we think we’ll be back to try that as well. Definitely a gem in Oceanside Harbor."
