"Experience authentic New Orleans-style Creole food in Los Angeles at Harold and Bell's, a family-owned restaurant that has delighted customers since 1984. Indulge in a flavorful menu featuring Harold's signature dishes like Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp Creole, Crawfish Étouffée, and Clam Chowder. Don't miss out on the daily offering of Filé Gumbo, a true Southern delight. Immerse yourself in the genuine taste of the South while enjoying top-notch customer service and a cozy ambiance. Harold and Denise, along with partners Al and Sue Honoré, have transformed this eatery from 12 to 35 tables, tripling the kitchen's size for an even more delightful dining experience."

"Great historic ambiance and absolutely well crafted delicious food! Went for lunch yesterday with my partner. We didn’t have a reservation however, was able to be seated right away. He got the ribs with macaroni and salad for his sides. I’m a vegan and got the mushroom melt aka the mushroom po’ boy (the side was dreamy, cooked to perfection). The mushroom was one of the best tasting styles of cooking from its kind, wasn’t too crispy or undercook, just perfect. Servings are on the larger side which we love, we had leftovers which were just as good! I highly recommend supporting this business. As a Black woman, I felt very comfortable dining at this establishment. Our server was attentive and the host and other employees were kind and helpful. We’re looking forward to having many more meals there!"

"The experience was excellent. Every dish we had from start to finish was delicious! Our server Michelle was amazing: great personality, sociable while not being over bearing, attentive and offered great suggestions for meals! We ordered charbroiled oysters, fried chicken wingettes, famous seafood platter (catfish and snapper), T-bone steak, shrimp po boy. Sides of Mac and cheese, red beans and rice, spinach, and fries. There isn’t one thing we wouldn’t order again! Portions and value for money are also fantastic!"

"First time here, but it won't be the last! The exterior is a little misleading because the inside is elegant and comfortable. They have a full bar right when you walk into the right, and it's perfectly lit. Tvs with sports are on, and the vibe is chill and classy. I had the jambalaya to start, and the sausage they use is like nothing I've had in a long time. The flavor was delicious! They are famous for their fried catfish, but I was not hungry enough to have an entire fish, so I tried the po boy instead, and it was excellent! Next time, I'll need to try some of the cocktails, but I had their IPA, and it was refreshing and balanced. Harold and Belle's is a staple in the community and a MUST visit for locals and visitors alike."

"I can’t believe I’m writing this but this visit here was the worst I’ve ever had. Normally, it is a good experience but the service and atmosphere here has gone down. I had reservations at 3pm on a Sunday and when my wife arrived, it took them 30 minutes to seat us. The restaurant wasn’t crowded and we didn’t understand. We asked could we go to the bar and they said no. Upon getting to our seats, the waiter didn’t come to our table for another 20 minutes. My wife and I contemplated leaving. When he did arrive, we just ordered everything we wanted in fear of waiting a long time for the items to come one by one. Tell why did our drinks from the bar damn near come out with the our main order of food. We had appetizers and side salads that were there long before the drinks. I later found out the that bartender was due to get off work and didn’t feel like working I guess to finish out the shift. The drinks by the way were not good at all. The food we ordered was okay. Everything was except the potato salad. Like I said before, the restaurant wasn’t crowded and maybe they were short staffed. It just didn’t sit right with us. We won’t be going back after all these years of going there. What a shame"
