The Elegant Truffle

"We were looking for a dessert place that wasn't ice cream. We found The Elegant Truffle on Yelp and they were closing in 20 minutes. It was a short walk. Their desserts looked wonderful. I got a piece of The Evil One, which is basically a coconut cream cake. It was incredible. My wife got a piece of carrot cake that is made with pineapple instead of raisins. She enjoyed it over two days. In the short time we were there, this seems like a take it to go place as we saw no seating, which was not a problem. They boxed up each dessert, provided us with forks, and a carry out bag. They have lots of chocolate based desserts as well, both cakes and truffles."

"This shop is DREAMY!!! I love it!!! But, every item contains DAIRY...there may be one "non-diary bar" but it's not consistency available. This shop produces beautiful work and people are eating it...without realizing they are eating animal cruelty while clogging their arteries and contributing to climate change. Non-dairy chocolates that taste like dairy-based chocolates are very possible today...it would be so nice!!! What a great business opportunity it would be!!"

"Jennifer and her team are wonderful. My girlfriend and I stopped by a couple months ago when we were in the area since you never seen any local chocolatiers anymore. I am dairy free which limits me almost everywhere but Jennifer was so kind and offered me a beautiful blueberry lemon angel food cake and some Belgian dark chocolate. Both were very delicious. My girlfriend really enjoyed the chocolates she got and said the brownie was to die for. Highly recommend stopping in to talk with Jennifer. She is very passionate about providing the highest quality desserts and coffee drinks."

"Not only did I think about the caramel for over a year before I was able to return to purchase more, but they were even better than I remembered them being. These are by far the best chocolate of any kind I’ve even had in my life. The owner was nice enough to ask us our wedding colors so she could decorate the bags the chocolates came in with colored ribbon for our wedding gift bags and it made it very special for us. Every time we are in San Diego I will be back. See you soon I hope!"

"The cakes and truffles are all great and they don't skimp out on flavor or size. Jennifer is friendly and helped me out with my order. Can't go wrong asking her for some advice. She makes you feel welcome, like you've been coming to her shop forever. The shop offers unique flavors as well as tried and true. Some of the flavors offered (at the time of this review) ginger, raspberry, espresso, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, Jameson, rum, champagne, and more."
