"Authentic Chinese selections. Marinated pig ear, wood ear, chicken feet and so many cold selections. Made to order noodles, dim sum wrappers, and a wide variety of soups and small plates. Even though the owner opened up a location close to my work in El Segundo, we all still drive out to the gardena location and everyone agrees it's well worth the time."
"I stopped here searching for some dim sum style foods. The won tons in chili sauce were great, pan fried dumplings were amazing, but the star of the show was the beef roll. It was so crispy and delicious with nice fresh cilantro. The juicy dumplings were fine but definitely got outshined by the rest of the meal. This is a good hidden gem."
"Went there for the first time yesterday. Excellent service. Warm and cozy atmosphere like eating at home. Food was awesome! A lot of varieties on their menu. We ordered Dan Dan Noodles, Spicy Hand Pulled Noodle Soup With Beef, and Pork Xiao Long Bao. Everything was perfect and we loved all three dishes. Their noodles were made fresh order by order. They were bouncy and got the al dente texture. We were seated right away when we got there. It took about 15 mins before our food came out. We enjoyed watching them hand-pull and hand-cut the noodles fresh in the kitchen. Comparing Northern Cafe to Din Tai Fung, I enjoyed the food at Northern Cafe a lot more. The items on their menus are pretty similar. There was no crazy long wait line here. I will definitely come back here again!"
"We are happy to finally got a good Chinese noodle restaurant in the South Bay. Hand pull, knife cut wide noodles with good variety of flavors. We had House special Beef Noodle soup (medium flat), and House style chow mien (knife cut) both were excellent. If you like lamb, definitely try the Lamb skewers with exotic flavors. (3 in an order, we got 2 orders) The XLB and Beef roll are both good but not extraordinary compared to the noodles. We ordered 3 appetizers, pig ears was the best. —- Updated 9/2022 We still love this place, it’s a little far for us, but I don’t mind coming every week. Everyone loved every dish. We ordered a lot for the 3 of us, and got plenty of leftovers to enjoy again tomorrow!"
"Wow!!! It is absolutely delicious!!! The juicy pork dumplings and cucumber salad were on spot. We tried a variation of noodles I had never heard of and they savory delicious; their spicy warning is no exaggeration, hahahaha!!! Can't wait to go back and try their other dishes."
