"Unethical! My daughter took her truck to Machado’s because she had an issue with the fan. After “assessment”, the mechanic at Machado’s called her and told her it was a thermostat malfunction and it would cost $2000 to fix and she better not drive it because it’s dangerous. Luckily she called a friend who immediately told her NO! A thermostat is probably $50 and can easily be installed. Go pick up the truck! We took it to another local mechanic down the street and all that was needed was the code needed to reset. They didn’t even charge her! The mechanic at Machado’s dishonesty is just shameful! And trying to take advantage of a young lady is despicable! You’d think in this day and age, the cliche mechanic taking advantage of a female in distress was long gone….but clearly it still exits. Very sad and very disappointing. I do not recommend this place of business….ESPECIALLY TO WOMEN!"

"I am deeply frustrated and disappointed with the service I received from Machado's. I cannot express how let down I am by their incompetence. I brought my vehicle in with an explanation of the issues I was experiencing and even pointed out where to look. However, it seems like they completely ignored my concerns. The lack of attention to detail and the complete disregard for my input is unacceptable. It's clear that they are either grossly inept or just don't care about their customers. I strongly advise against using this mechanic's services. Their incompetence and indifference to their customers' needs have left me not only with a poorly serviced vehicle but also with a sense of anger and frustration that I wouldn't wish on anyone else. Avoid this mechanic at all costs; they are an absolute nightmare to deal with."

"Can’t say enough amazing things about them. Honest, good, hardworking people. I’ve never had an auto shop end up charging me less than quoted because their mechanic is so incredible that he completed the work faster than expected. They didn’t have to adjust the price, I never would’ve known or questioned anything. That’s just how good, honest people do business. And this is just one of the great things they did for us, doesn’t include all the time they spent talking to us and trying help troubleshoot with us prior to taking it in. We will be telling all our friends about Machado’s and plan to use them for any future auto care needs!"

"My car was making a clicking sound when switching from park to drive, or drive to reverse. Since this was my first time visiting an autoshop in Livermore, I took a chance with Machado's due to the stellar reviews. They diagnosed the vehicle and notified me of the issue/estimated cost. They needed to order the part, so they stated I could keep the vehicle until the part arrived in a few days. When I picked up the car, they didn't even take payment for the diagnostic, and stated I could pay all at once after the repair (wow, that's trust for a first time customer). I dropped off the car again once the part arrived and picked it up a few hours later, the issue was solved. I checked the part cost at a reputable online dealer vs what I had been charged, as well as the total labor hours, and honestly I haven't seen a more fair cost for work. I was extremely happy with the overall service provided. After I got home, I had the car parked in front of my house for a few days, and when I pulled out for the first time, I noticed a fresh reddish pinkish liquid on the asphalt under the car. I touched it with a napkin and confirmed it was coming from my vehicle. I called Machado's immediately and they told me to bring it by for a diagnostic that day. They called me same day and stated that the seal that holds the transmission fluid had been compromised due to their repair, and took full ownership of the cost to replace and repair as part of their 3 year 36,000 mile warranty on all of their work. Since the repair, the car has been driving better than ever. I have never worked with an auto shop this transparent, honest, and communicative throughout the entire process. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, and always waving and smiling as I came by. Special shoutout to Stephanie for the amazing communication. This will be my go-to auto shop for as long as I live in Livermore."

"I’ve been taking my cars to Machado’s Auto Care for nearly 15 years and they’ve always kept my cars in tip top shape. My last car, a Lexus ES300, had over 377k miles when I finally traded it away, still running. My current car, a Lexus RX350, just went over 200k miles and is purring like a kitten. Machado’s recently performed its 200k service, which allowed me to make a trouble-free 1431 mile drive to my son’s house in Texas, where I’m relocating. I wish I could take Tom and Arnie with me! I highly recommend Machado’s of Livermore, to anyone who wants excellent customer service and unmatched vehicle care."
