"We just wanted dessert and coffee. 5 of us could have shared 2 items but we got: carrot cake, lemon cake, coconut macaroon, brownie a la mode along with coffee and tea. The cakes are sweet, we tend to like less sweet but it went well with coffee. I wish they came around to replenish the coffee. My friend's cake was a tad cold for him so he requested they microwave it. Coffee was pretty good."
"We had lunch here and the quality of the food has really gone downhill. My wife and I both got upset stomachs after lunch. We used to eat at Max's Opera Cafe in Palo Alto and Burlingame and everything we ate was good. Looks like things changed when Mr. Berkowitz sold the Burlingame restaurant. Won't ever eat here again!!"
"Whenever we’re in the area with a big group this is a reliable and perfect spot to meet. Appreciate manager Fernando taking care of our group after some issues came up. Matzo Ball soup is always good! Server was personable but not attentive never got water and food was not served hot. Save room for dessert."
"Totally made the right decision to have lunch at this place. Service was great, food is good but the crispy calamari is a little bit over cook. Their virgin margarita is perfect and the live jazz band makes the place cozy."
"We enjoyed Max’s delicious Seasoned Reuben and perfectly cooked burger with an amazing bowl of Matzah ball soup. The Bloody had a great spice which went well with the Pale Ale IPA . We had wonderful service and a great experience. Thanks Max’s!"
