About the Business

The Garner State Park Office, located in Concan, Texas, United States, is a popular destination known for its fun traditions and beautiful scenery. With easy access to the Frio River, the park offers miles of hiking trails and camping options for visitors to enjoy.

Whether you want to swim, hike, or simply relax, Garner State Park has something for everyone. The park features 2.9 miles of the Frio River, winding through 1,774 acres of scenic Hill Country terrain. Visitors can swim, float on inner tubes, paddle boats, hike trails, camp, study nature, picnic, canoe, fish, play miniature golf, geocache, ride bikes, and even dance.

Overnight visitors have the option to stay in screened shelters, cabins, or campsites. Large groups can rent the screened shelter or group campsite. The park’s concessionaire offers meals and snacks during the busy season, and rents out the pavilion in the off-season.

Visitors should be cautious of feral hogs in the park and not leave any food unattended. The park also hosts a summer dance tradition at the concession building, dating back to the 1940s.

The park facilities, including the concession building and dance pavilion, were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Visitors can rent paddle boats, kayaks, inner tubes, and other amenities from the concessionaire. Volunteers are also welcome to help with various tasks at the park.

In addition to exploring the park, visitors can also visit the Briscoe-Garner Museum, Fort Inge, and participate in a Frio Bat Flight tour. Other nearby TPWD parks include Hill Country, Lost Maples, Devil’s Sinkhole State Natural Areas, and Kickapoo Cavern State Park.

Due to high visitation, reservations for camping and day use are highly recommended. The park often reaches capacity, especially during holidays and weekends. Visitors can make reservations online or by calling the customer service center in advance.

Whether you're looking to relax by the river, explore nature, or dance the night away, Garner State Park has something for everyone to enjoy.

"It's pretty slow, but not terrible, the park itself is very beautiful and has an amazing swimming area. I had to hike to the crystal cave in flipflops. Don't do this. Trails are pretty steep so be prepared. There are multiple places that sell food."
