"Great trail and very impressive - but it gets progressively worse with a fair to moderate amount of scrambling to get to the end.. plus some water hazards in January, 2024..! If you are mobility challenged - you can easily enjoy the majority of this slot canyon without any significant issues or scrambling, too..!"

"Be prepared to scramble on the rocks. Even though it is a dog friendly trail, it is not easy to scramble on the rocks while holding a dog. Small dogs would have difficulty on this trail. Dogs will have to be quite agile for this trail. Kids had so much fun. This is one of our favorite trails in Big Bend. The drive to the trail was gorgeous."

"A great place for an easy, quick hike to see this gem right off FM 170. Definitely worth the stop! Parking was easy and there’s a restroom, too."

"Closed Canyon is a must visit! It’s an easy and fun trail. You get a lot of shade while inside the canyon but the short trail leading to the canyon doesn’t have any shade and it can get really hot. Make sure to plan well, bring lots of water or in our case we brought umbrellas with us. It was a short hike but I enjoyed it very much. Parking was not a problem."

"This was one of my favorite trails on our trip. You can easily hike through a closed Canyon enjoying the high walls above you. Dogs are allowed on this trail and it stays pretty cool even in the heat of the day. There are some rocks you need to climb down that can be a bit slippery, but nothing a good pair of hiking boots can't fix."
