Backyard Luxuries

"We used Backyard Luxuries at our first home for a stamped concrete patio with a fire pit and pergola (very first picture). This was a starter home for us and there really wasn’t much that the home builder had provided other than a 10x10 slab of concrete to act as a patio. At that time, the company was still fairly young, but the work that Zach and his crew did, transformed our backyard into a space that we actually wanted to spend time in to host our families and friends. Naturally, when we made a move into our new home, we wanted to continue and have a space to entertain and enjoy with our kids, so we reached back out to Backyard Luxuries. The work they have done over the years has been pretty extensive, even having built various pools and patios in our new neighborhood. From the consulting phase, through design, and inevitably the build, Zach and his family were extremely attentive to what we were wanting and helped provide a vision for our backyard even though I had a hard time describing it. I mention his family because they are a family owned and run business. His wife worked with us through design, mother in law with the selections, coordination, and paperwork, and his brother who managed the patio build. He even treats his project managers and crews like family. I was impressed with how detailed and efficient they were throughout the entire process. Zach and his PM Cisco came out to measure and walk the yard before the dig and were accommodating with a couple of small last minute change orders that I wanted to add. Everything was measured and remeasured by every trade before they started their work. The crews were respectful enough to clean the yard of any scrap and nails so that we did not have to worry about our kids or dog stepping on anything. Cisco was great about staying in contact with us and explaining what the crews were doing and what was coming next. The one issue that we did have, which was no fault to the builder, was finding enough travertine for our decking. What we had selected was out of stock, so Cisco walked us through our options and we landed on decking that we actually liked more than the chipped edge style we initially selected. The tile crew meticulously laid each of the pavers by hand over a 4 day period, making sure that every joined edge was level and that there was sloping to push water away from our covered patio area and towards the drains. The framers did a fantastic job extending our patio and installing the pine ceiling. Without asking, the patio PM, Jeremy, had the framers re-enforce an area of the ceiling that I had discussed wanting to mount a tv at. Following cleanup, Joe, the Landscape Manager, came out and figuratively put the bow on the package. They made corrections to the zoning of our sprinkler system, graded the areas around the pool/patio, tied in drainage, and worked with us on a landscaping design that brought everything together. I really can’t say enough about how smooth and quickly this entire process went, and at the same time am at a loss for words with how much they transformed our backyard…just look at the pictures. The entire build took around 14 weeks, which included the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s holidays. We had some neighbors, who built around the same time, go 4 to 6 months with some other builders which just seems incredible to me. From dig to completion, I couldn’t have been happier with the timing, precision, and level of communication throughout this entire process. I would absolutely use Backyard Luxuries again and recommend them to anyone else looking to transform their backyard."
