"I don't really write reviews unless I have nice things to say about a place. I don't even know where to begin. Had an engagement ring custom made with the grandmother's stone here. Took it in not too long after because the stone was loose. The lady took a look at the ring and said she was not sure if they can fix something like that and looks poorly made. I gave her a look and said ummm I got it made here. Her whole attitude changed and took it to the back. Fixed it and I left. Next day, the stone fell off and grandmothers stone was forever gone. Went in to complain and they replaced the ring with the one I chose from there display. They gave me an appraisal on a computer paper and was appraised at 10K. Took it in a couple of days later because I noticed in the middle of the stone had a crack like pattern in it. They said it was a natural thing for this pear shaped diamond. Due to my divorce I decided to sell the ring. Ofcourse I am going to go back there since they buy diamonds. I called and they gave me a hard time about bringing that ring back and at the end oh we are not buying at the moment. WHAT? WOW!! So I took this ring to a couple of diamond buys and they ALL said the same thing. The diamond clarity is about 7 grades lower than the appraisal, the crack I mentioned earlier is a fracture and they said the color noted is also wrong and its lower, more like a J. I was angry for a while so I held back writing this review so I don't say anything out of anger. 1 star is for some of the employees there are actually nice and helpful."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Cy Fredrics. My (now) fiance and I went there in February/March to get a sense of what we wanted in ring styles when it got to the point of proposing, and they were incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. When it came time to actually design her ring, I went to a couple chain stores and was unimpressed and felt pressured. I went back to Cy and the entire staff (in particular the designer, Kendall), was beyond helpful and really allowed me to have ownership/partnership. The custom job was INCREDIBLE and my fiance and I are beyond happy. Recently we went back in because the main stone in her ring was a little loose, and they tightened it right then and there free of charge. As we waited, someone helped me look through masculine rings to get a better concept of what I might want in the future for my wedding band. In the three or four times I have gone, it has been an A++ experience from start to finish. As long as I am in the greater Chicago area, this will be my go to jeweler. WOW!!!"

"I have been purchasing from Cy Fredrics for over 10 years now and can't imagine going anywhere else! Jordan and the Cy Fredrics team did an AMAZING job most recently on my engagement bands. I can't thank you enough they are perfect! Even with the quick turnaround they had them completed AHEAD of schedule with no problem."

"Stopped in hoping they could remove a tennis bracelet that was stuck on my wrist. Neither my husband nor Kay Jewelers could get it off. They were able to finally remove it, and even fixed the clasp as good as new, all free of charge. While waiting, I looked around and they had some very cute pieces. May have to return to pick up a necklace or two...."

"I purchased an engagement ring from Cy Fredrics and my wife and I returned to purchase our wedding bands. When I started the process, I was pretty ignorant about jewelry and I felt very vulnerable, especially given the amount of money involved. Cy Fredrics' employees were very patient with me and they took the time to fully explain how I could get the best value for my money. They gave expert advice and knowledgeable opinions, but they also listened to what I wanted and gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision that I was comfortable with. They weren't pushy at all and they really wanted to make sure we would love the jewelry we ended up with, which we certainly do! I definitely felt like I was treated right and I am very happy with the entire experience!"
