"My son recently graduated from the Illinois Welding School in Romeoville. His story is college was not for him and he got tired of working low paying jobs for bad employers. Trade school became a viable option for him at age 25. We looked at several schools and after meeting with the owners Delano and Debra Horn we chose their school. Their program is based on the basics which are hands on welding for a majority of the program (MIG, TIG, and stick), studying welding processes, blueprint reading, and weld symbols. My son walked in off the street having never welded before and after completing the course he graduated the structural welding program and succeeded in passing the welder certification test. The staff is supportive and knowledgeable coming to teaching with real world work experience. The owners truly care about their students and put the students before everything else. They also follow up with job placement assistance and advice to graduates. If you are looking for a place for your student to learn a skill that leads to a career our family recommends the Illinois Welding School."

"Went there for a welding test not only is the place very small but they definitely were not prepared for me to do a welding test definitely not professional at all, it definitely has to be a husband and wife operation which is whatever but at least when somebody's there for a welding test at least be prepared definitely got treated like I was a student even though I was there for a welding test for a job plus what I have seen ETI is way better of a school much bigger better equipment not hand me down or racing to harbor freight to buy that equipment they use Lincoln electric and Miller machines and I only saw one Miller machine in the rest of them are all off brand not even Lincoln electric I definitely do not recommend going there for a welding test job placement or anything like that go to ETI much better"

"Our son attended IWS, and he received an excellent education! Excellent instructors, who not only teach welding, but also imbed safety and great work ethic into their students. Our son landed his first welding job in 1 day. Thanks IWS!"

"I am currently a student and my exspierce has been a positive one this far. The instructors though young are great welders. I have to addmit At times I have wished for that old timer that has the 100 years of exspierce but they do their best to spend one on one timeAnd answer any questions you might have. I like the move at your own pace attitude . I do agree with another guy when the ventaltion and lighting could be improved however I found the small classes be great advantage to other bigger school. I am about 1/2 though the structural program and feel confident that I will be happy when I graduate . I will be back to update this post as I get though the school thanks for reading update. its been a couple of month since I finish their program and have a lot of mix feeling . I'm not sure I would recommend them for anyone who IS NOT going for pipe welding as I found out the hard way this seems to be all they wont to teach. that being said all pipe welding gradutes I know are working as welds!"
