"I was so lucky to find Shelley Pier a year ago for counseling. When I met her I was in pretty bad shape emotionally and not quite sure what I needed. After a couple of sessions Shelley suggested EMDR therapy for me. She talked to me, gave me time to explain what I felt I needed, and worked out a treatment plan that made sense to me, with me. I always felt safe and Shelley knew exactly how far I could go. We practiced coping mechanisms that I still use and that have saved me so many times. EMDR can be very scary, but when you have a counselor as good as Shelley, it can save your life. After a year of almost weekly and often biweekly appointments, we have now entered the maintenance phase - I graduated and I have never felt better in my entire life. I would trust Shelley with any problems. Our entire family will be forever grateful for my healing and Shelley will always be an important part of our lives."
