"Giving one star because Dr. Thomas herself was a kind person. Unfortunately, her practice isn’t worth your time. Her office staff is rude and, more worryingly, provides misinformation to their patients. For instance, they will tell you that you can’t get a PAP smear if you are on your period and will try to reschedule you. Dr. Thomas confirmed that you can, and that this was an outdated policy. The office was dark, dirty, and run down, to the point where my ride was nervous about dropping me off and leaving me at my first appointment. Trying to schedule is a nightmare, as they rarely seem to have anyone in the office (you’ll have to speak to their answering service multiple times in a week before you hear back). Finally, I had an ultrasound and never received the results, even after calling twice. They sure didn’t forget to send the bill for it, though. My advice is to stay far, far away from this group."

"Dr Sonya Thomas is amazing. Wonderful. Very empathetic and always explains everything in full detail. Never felt rushed with her and she’s great, the only problem I had was her receptionist. From what it looks like, she didn’t like her job or something because she’s very rude on the phone and in person. Office is a little out dated and not too much of a fan of st Mary’s being where she delivers which is why I transferred to my OBGYN I have now. But if she were delivering elsewhere, I would have definitely stood with her. She’s great!!"

"Dr. Thomas was great! If I was just rating her, I'd give it 5 stars without a second thought. The office is a little dated, but finding a doctor in Chicago that doesn't have a dated office isn't easy, and does that really matter anyway? I'm giving it 3 stars because of the receptionist. When I visited Dr. Thomas, the receptionist was out sick so I didn't have to deal with her in person. However, when I called to make another appointment she was incredibly rude and almost shameful? Not sure if shameful is the right word, but I left the phone call feeling bad about myself. I decided to find another OBGYN because of this experience. Overall, if you can deal with the receptionist, Dr. Thomas is worth it. Dr. Thomas if you read this, please consider getting a new receptionist, she really makes your practice look terrible and you are great!"

"Dr Thomas is great. She is compassionate and very thorough in her practice. I have never felt rushed and I feel she gives me all her attention. The practice is old and dated but I like Dr Thomas. The reason for 3 stars is her receptionist/office manager is rude. You walk in she’s rude. You call the office she’s rude. She never smiles and just makes the intitial experience very cold and not welcoming. I have been seeing dr Thomas for 3-4 years and I haven’t left because I like Dr Thomas."
