"I'm writing to share my overwhelmingly negative experience with Howard Tax Associates. After years of using TurboTax with ease and satisfaction, I was advised by my financial advisor to switch to Howard Tax Associates for professional tax preparation services. Unfortunately, this decision turned out to be a costly mistake. From the very beginning, I felt like a burden to Howard Tax Associates. Communication was practically nonexistent, and the instructions for using their online portal were vague and confusing. This lack of guidance led to a critical miscommunication regarding a signed document. Months went by without any contact from Howard Tax Associates, leaving me completely in the dark about the status of my tax filing. I had assumed that my taxes were being handled appropriately, especially considering the fees I had paid. However, my assumption was shattered when I received a call from an associate in the fall, informing me that my taxes had not been filed due to the missing signature. This delay resulted in additional penalties and an IRS bill of $733. I'm appalled by the level of negligence and lack of accountability displayed by Howard Tax Associates. They failed to maintain clear communication, address the missing signature promptly, or even file an extension to prevent late payment penalties. Their actions have caused me considerable financial hardship and unnecessary stress. If you're looking for a reliable and professional tax preparation service, I strongly advise you to steer clear of Howard Tax Associates. Their substandard service and lack of client care will only lead to frustration, delays, and additional expenses."
