"I previously left a 5 star review for this practice, but things have drastically changed. My amazing nurse practitioner Kenneth is no longer there. He and I had a really good therapeutic relationship, and we had found the perfect combination of medications that worked really well for me. The new provider, Lynda, talked to me for less then 5 minutes before deciding to change everything that had been working perfectly for almost two years. I am very disappointed in this practice and the provider I saw. She had her own agenda, and my well being was definitely not part of that."

"I must express my disappointment with my recent experience at Bay Area Psychiatry. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this practice due to several issues I encountered. Firstly, I was under the impression that my insurance was accepted when I began treatment, but six months later, I discovered that I was not in-network. This lack of insurance verification led to unexpected financial burdens of over, as I now face a significant bill of 1500 dollars that I should not have had to bear. Additionally, there were issues with communication within the practice. Both my therapist and psychiatrist left and the practice did not inform me, and I was left in the dark about the reasons for their departures. Furthermore, I was not informed that Dr. Kenneth had left, and my appointment was changed without my consent to another provider instead of cancelled, which was very upsetting. I understand that transitions can happen in healthcare practices, but clear communication and transparency are essential during these times to maintain trust and continuity of care. I hope my feedback serves as constructive criticism for Bay Area Psychiatry to improve their practices and better serve their patients in the future. It's crucial that patients can trust their healthcare providers, and these experiences have left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. If you are considering this practice, I would strongly advise researching other options and ensuring that your insurance coverage is confirmed before starting treatment. If I could give fewer stars, I would."

"I don't recommend this place. I called to schedule an appointment for my son with Richard White, and I found out that he no longer wishes to see my son due to "lack of interest" on my son's part. He never once informed me that he planned to terminate nor did he go through the termination process with my son. That's unethical not to inform your client that you plan to terminate. My son hasn't been going to him that long. To terminate this early and without notice, I don't feel that was appropriate."

"I have been seeing Lynda Barker, NP and have had a good therapeutic relationship with her for several years. I feel that she has shifted her focus to research and seems rushed, though still thorough during our appointments. Keeping friendly staff has been a challenge for this practice over past 2 to 3 years. Refills have been less than timely and require planning and multiple phone calls to urge timely refill. There is a website for refill requests, however it is not reviewed frequently enough to be timely."

"My family and I have been going to this doctor’s office for years. I have never had any problems with the doctor but have always had problems with the front office staff. I have to explain to them how my insurance worked every time I went. After going 3-4 times a year for 5 years and having to explain the insurance to the people that were supposedly hired to know how insurance is filed I was at my wits end. So after having a very heated discussion with the office manager, (whom told me I was wrong) I turned to my insurance company for help. I explained what had happened and was assured that what I had told the office manager was correct. The insurance representative then offered to call the office and get the situation resolved. The only problem was that when the representative called, the office manager refused to talk to them. Well since this office manager was being blatantly unprofessional I decided I needed to let the doctor know what had transpired so we could get this corrected. It wasn’t till the next day that I received a call from the doctor and at first I was relieved that I would be able to get this resolved but that was very short lived. Dr. Earl had not called to help me with the situation of his employees being unprofessional or the lack of knowledge required for their positions. No he called to let me know that he no longer wanted mine or my families business because we have a very unique insurance and because I insulted his office manager. I was completely blown away! After some considerable thought I realized that this was all for the better. I had been ready to leave this office for some time but the doctor was what had kept me there, I thought he was a dedicated professional and savvy business owner. If you’re going here for anxiety, depression or any mental health issues I highly recommend you look elsewhere as the office staff will definitely cause all of the above."
