"I got to the pharmacy at 11:50am on Sunday and they were closed for a 15 minute break. They literally just opened at 10am."
"To say I am displeased, is a understatement. The male team member who assisted me via drive thru was so beyond rude and misinformed, it costed me well over 40 minutes in waiting on different phone calls and almost well over $220 for a script that my insurance dose in fact cover. Review continued below: I utilized one of the medications that has been out of stock in many locations, so as a last ditch effort I phoned Walmart pharmacy of Algonquin. A very pleasant lady assisted me and helped me to secure the requirements for the script to be filled… Awesome amazing even. That’s where the pleasure ends very sharply and abruptly. I went with my best friend to pick up the script, I am almost immediately met at the drive thru screen by a male team member who very quickly says ‘we’ll be right with you’ and the screen goes black again before I can say a thing, about 10 more minutes pass, and they come back on the screen ‘last name.. first name.. DOB.. okay that’s $200 odd dollars’ and goes off the screen again… I wait for them to come back, and they again keep rudely cutting me off, I’m simply trying to state that I have insurance and that I have never used Walmart pharmacy, so I want to add that information. It took me well over 7 tries to get a word in to explain this, once I had, he sends the little shuttle thing. I load my ins card in, and wait. Comes back on the screen ‘it seems like you’re missing a plan code, this ins card is just for doctors visits it didn’t change the price at all it’ll be $200 odd dollars’ I question this in a somewhat rude manner at this point as I’m getting frustrated with the total lack of interpersonal skills being demonstrated, and he states he’ll try looking it up for me…. Comes back ‘I found the insurance and it didn’t change anything so if you want the medication it’ll be $200 odd dollars’ Maybe it’s just me, however when you’re used to paying $10 at Costco Pharmacy, a jump to over $200 is not happy news. So I said we would look further into this and left the drive thru window. My best friend at this point is doing his best to control the situation, remind me that I was losing my cool and to go park the car while we call however many phone support numbers for the insurance/the EAP, and they all stated that this is odd and advised to call the Walmart pharmacy again…. At this point my best friend calls them, and it’s the nice lady again, awesome. She says she heard the conversation, she knows we were just at the window and informed us that the script was in fact only $10 out of pocket.. I’m sorry what? So we waited however many minutes while the male team member kept going on and off the screen, I was attempted to be convinced to pay over $200 for my medication, and handled from the very first second with extremely rude customer service skills. Only to be told that it was actually the price I had expected in the first place. The reason this is concerning to me is this: A having to hunt down a prescription every month is not enjoyable in the first place. Being handled in a rude manner and encouraged to pay a price over 200x the actual cost, is deeply upsetting. However the more concerning thing is: how many people have just agreed to pay this team member the incorrect significantly higher price because they need their medication right then and there, or don’t have amazing friends like I do that helped me navigate this while in a very unhappy frame of mind. How many people has this team member scared away and they request their care provider to transfer the scripts to a different brand. This was the first time I had ever used a Walmart pharmacy service, and I stand by what I say, this will be the last time just as well. I understand that this one team member dose not account for the entirety of their staff, or the staff of other locations, however that is the importance of being a team member in customer facing positions, you are a representative of the brand and are charged with the responsibility of upholding positive interactions. I do NOT recommend this branch."
"I called to see if my medication was ready and the lady asked which one. I told her the name Ritalin (methylphenidate) and without even checking, she said “we’re out of stock.we’ve been out for awhile.” So i ask, are you sure you’re not talking about adderall? (THIS medication does the same thing but it’s been out of stock for awhile). she said very rudely, “yah. i got a call about it earlier today too”. and I said okay… So i call my doctor to change the location, and a few hours later, im getting a notification that my medication is ready to pick up at this Walmart that told me they’re out of stock. Now it’s gonna be an annoyance to my doctor because this lady couldn’t take one minute to look it up. She so matter-of-fact, rudely told me an untrue fact out of laziness and negligence. If people can’t do their jobs right and talk to customers rudely, why work there at all? Medication is not something to be unsure about, maybe she needs to be retrained or go back to school if she doesn’t know the difference between two."
"I had to get an emergency refill Pharmacist Ryan told me sorry we can't do an early refill on your medicine you should learn how to take care of your medicine. I was in Chicago had spent weekend my overnight was snatched and I was knocked down. I explained this to Ryan his remark was we are not filling your medicine showed no remorse. So therefore I will be changing pharmacy's first of all he doesn't know how serious my medical condition is.and if I don't have it my condition can get worse. I will never fill my medications at Walmart their customer service sucks. Ryan called me at 8;30 p.m. to tell me I need to take better care of my medicine.unbelievable. Will be changing pharmcist."
"Very helpful staff! I have been coming here for my last several refills and I couldn't be happier. They have an extensive list of prescriptions that are either free or at a significant discount without insurance. Their current list can be found on their website or a pharmacy tech will check for you."
