"It's a weekly West Coast Swing event where I first learned the dance. No need to bring a partner and clothing is casual. For the beginners, don't worry about your "two left feet". It's an encouraging, no-judgement zone where those with more experience are committed to paying it forward such that beginners want to come back. There's always a beginner class, meaning, for those who have no clue. For those who already know the dance, there's a class/workshop to begin the evening, a great, well-maintained dance floor, and as good music with sound system as you'll find anywhere. You can count on great dancing till midnight. West Coast Swing is an increasingly popular, informal dance descended from the original Swing dances of the big band era and borrows liberally from other styles. It is not based on any particular steps but, instead, on connection between the partners. It is conversational in nature and works with a variety of music, blues and contemporary, fast and slow."
