"First, if we could rate this at ZERO STARS then it would be! We believe in total transparency and this craftsman showed his true colors and has destroyed what positive review we could have given Ace Handyman Services Conroe because he was dishonest in his overall work! We booked Ace for the following services; dog door installation through brick to exterior, pendant light installation (switching out exiting lights), cabinet door & drawer pulls (34), hanging two pictures, and hanging three wall decor. Quoted a four hour package within a doggie door package. Craftsman arrived approximately 15 minutes late but he did call to advise of his tardiness. That was appreciated but upon arrival he proceeded to say that another craftsman was to have done the measurements for the doggie door prior to the appointed install day. We advised that no one stated that ahead of time nor did this craftsman verify said required measurement the night before when he called to advise of his arrival window. He then proceeded to commence the start of the remaining tasks completing two pendant lights in a little over an hour and ten cabinet pulls in the remaining three hours with two of the ten installed crooked due to the craftsman’s use of a level instead of a template or guide. There were two different types of templates available for him to use but he indicated being a professional and using a level to install cabinet pulls. It took him three hours to complete ten cabinets and two of them were crooked! At exactly 12:00 pm he stopped working and packed up his belongings telling us that he would need to return with another craftsman to complete the job. He also suggested that the jobs be broken down into smaller 2-3 hours jobs each over multiple weeks. We could understand 30 minutes to 1 hour of running behind needing to add on that time to the back end but to tell us “oh if I stay I’d have to charge $30 per 15 minute increments which at that point we felt he had just milked the allotted four hour timeframe within the package. We were so outdone with what had just happened that all we could do was thank him and let him be on his way! Moving into a new home we were excited to have found a one stop shop of services but NEVER again would we use services from Ace Handyman Services Conroe."
