"I lived here for grad school several years ago. They were decent until it came time to move out. They tried to make us keep paying the electric bill after our lease ended and when we refused, they took several hundred out of our security deposit because they had to clean the top of the fan and refrigerator for dust. They take advantage of college students because options are limited and they can. Consider pine shores instead! I moved there and it was the best decision I made."

"Outstandingly disrespectful landlords. Many of the positive reviews have been written by the workers, not by the tenants. All of the negative reviews from years ago, are still relevant. It is the same people, owners have not changed. I personally have known multiple people who lived there, who similarly had been treated extremely poorly. The apartments aren’t old, but it is most definitely not worth the hassle of constantly having to deal with rude people. Stay away from this one."

"Currently apartment hunting in STL and starting to realize how important it is to leave reviews when you have a positive experience. I stayed on Park street on a 1-year lease from 2017-2018 and it was a great experience. Was very clean when I moved in, spacious, good layout. Management was very responsive and helpful. One time I remember noticing my garbage disposal was leaking and this was close to office closing hours. I called it in anyways hoping that they could get to it some time that week. Dude was there the next morning at like, 9am to replace it and I never saw any mysterious charges or anything on my monthly rent. Negatives: Pretty quiet but like most apartments I could hear my upstairs neighbor stomping around at random hours. I wish they were a little more flexible on the lease; a lot of students stay here and might not need the lease through the summer. Also, a little pricier than other options, but definitely worth it, especially for the location. It might also be worth saying that they do take out a little of your deposit to steam clean the apartment after you leave, regardless of how well you clean it before you move out. Kinda dumb, but I wouldn't doubt that money definitely does go to maintaining the carpet. Besides the steam cleaning fee, I received my full deposit. This is a place I would recommend to younger siblings if they moved to the area."

"G and R is a good place to live alone. It is quite and no parties. The apartment is new and clean comparing with most other apartments in Carbondale. Maintenance people are really nice and kind. Office workers are nice as well. I heard a lot moved out people saying they charged a lot for cleaning after move out. Currently I am still living in here, so I am not sure it is true or not, but definitely it is a concern."

"In my experience, G & R has been a great place to stay. This is my third year living in this apartment, and I have no complaints. The staff is very friendly and helpful, The apartments themselves are very up to date and clean. Since I have moved here I have been to many other apartments that my friends were/ are living in and I don't regret my decision to live here in the slightest. Anytime I did have an issue, with my dryer for example, it was fixed within two days. I haven't had a single issue with bugs and all my neighbors are friendly. I highly recommend G & R."
