"Part of running a business is dealing with criticism, from the responses on this page it is clear to me the staff or possibly the owner cannot handle critique. If you are the owner please hire someone with some social media experience to handle review replies you are not doing yourself any favors. I cannot in good faith recommend this hotel because of this issue. I hope you take the time to reflect."
"Such a fun and unique hotel. The front desk and valet person were so very nice. Very chill atmosphere which was great since we got snowed in for a day. They were more than accommodating for our late check out so we weren't stuck waiting so long at the airport. Our king room was set up so cute and unique I bet the suites are amazing!"
"My first time at this hotel was really nice. The rooms were super cute and we had a view of downtown. The staff was really nice. While we didn't get to go to the pool, I hear it's really nice in the summer."
"My husband and I got married here last year. This hotel is the most poorly managed and understaffed venues in all of St. Louis. A few months into our wedding planning the event coordinator from the hotel left abruptly and the replacement, Hillary, provided us nothing but assurances that everything would be taken care of in the transition. That was an unfortunate lie. From when I tried to check in to the bridal suite the night before our wedding and was told the room wasn’t paid for (despite confirmation via email the room was complimentary), to the fiasco of our wedding night, this place is a dumpster fire. Without our incredible wedding planner and her team, there is no way the room would have been flipped from the ceremony in time for our dinner reception. The event coordinator Hillary was missing for 5 hours day of and not responding to calls or texts. Though we were assured the AV system was state of the art, there was one speaker for the entire ballroom and the music was barely audible. Dinner was served over an hour late and was cold, which then delayed us being able to entertain our guests at the after party. After party appetizers were supposed to be served by 7:30 and the first tray didn’t arrive until 9:15, 15 min before the event was supposed to end. Our after party guests were leaving early to find food elsewhere as a result. Valet staff were being removed from their duties to help find and clean chargers, so our guests couldn’t fully utilize the valet service we paid for. Housekeeping staff were recruited to serve dinner because they didn’t have enough catering staff. The bartender was missing from the bar periodically because she was also being asked to clean and serve dinner. After reviewing all these issues and more with the hotel manager (Mike) and providing documentation from our wedding planner about how the event would not have even taken place without the work of her team, his response was that the invoice should’ve been paid before the event (which we emailed Hillary repeatedly to request this and didn’t actually get it until the day after our wedding) and that based on his conversations with his staff the event was a “success”. He also said that no complaints were filed the night of the event, as though I was supposed to file a written complaint with management at 9:30 pm when I’m leaving my own wedding to get ready for the rest of our weekend celebrations. When we asked him to remove charges for services not completed and tried to negotiate the invoice given the incompetence of management and event staff, he refused outright and kept threatening to involve his lawyer (but never actually followed through on this). Mike also told us that he is an investment banker and his partner was supposed to take care of the hotel business but that he was left to deal with this on his own. Clearly he has no idea how to manage a business and has no right to advertise the capability to host a wedding at this sad excuse for a venue. Just reading the responses to reviews for this hotel from “guest services” accusing every negative reviewer of being "fake" sheds light on how unhinged and poorly run the management team is. Do NOT have your wedding or any other important event at this hotel. You will be sorely disappointed. It’s a shame that such a happy event in our lives is forever tainted by the experience we had at this terrible venue. Can’t wait to read the insane response from management, probably will say this is fake despite photo evidence of our wedding there."
"Back in November of 2023, my husband and I booked this hotel. We stayed two total nights. The room was great, a little drafty from the cold weather. The bartender downstairs was the most kind and thoughtful person. The location is what you’d expect being in St.Louis. The second night we stayed, there were gunshots outside our window. Overall, I felt safe though because a key card was required for the elevator and the room door had an extra lock! My experience was great and had a great time. Now however we were told our safety deposit was sent back to us, however when communicating with my bank they have no trail of a release of funds. Therefore the hotel has not provided me with my deposit and lied to me regarding the funds being released. I have emailed the hotel and have not received information back. This has been a month long problem."
