The Lodge Hotel and Banquets

"My father suddenly and unexpectedly passed away January 26th. Needless to say I was in a state. Unfamiliar with the St. Louis area surrounding the airport, I was trying to book a room for 3 nights ASAP. I booked through Agoda, thinking I would save money as I had to book a last minute flight and tickets were outrageous. Through tears and frustration, I booked a room at this hotel BEFORE reading the horrible reviews. (Bedbugs, safety concerns, urine smells, etc.) AND the cancellation policy. My mistake. As I was traveling alone and I am a senior citizen, I was wary. After cancelling and trying in vain to appeal to the hotel (through AGODA) to at least maybe receive a partial refund, I was bluntly told NO. No refund, not even a slight consideration for my situation. Horrible customer service. Horrible policy. I will never book a room at this hotel or any affiliates."

"At one time in this Hotels history it was a wonderful amazing place to stay, but that time is long gone. DO NOT assume the pics you see is what you get. The pool was about 1/4full of nasty green/black water, NONE of the outer jacuzzi’s had water, this is a dump! If you’re desperate enough to stay here then you deserve whatever bugs you take home. My friend lives in the area and said it’s called the “No Tell Motel”. Only stayed because that’s where my company put me up."

"The room was decent, but someone wet the bed, smelt like urine. And staff had to come investigate, then handed me a bottle of air freshener. Absolutely not, I need a room that doesn't smell like a litter box. Pool never open. People wandering around all hour's of the night. Will not ever make that mistake again"

"Run down property... under construction but it will take a complete overhaul to fix this place. The pool had water in it, but not open... that would have saved the stay a little. Staff is nice enough, the grounds just were neglected too long it looks like"

"This is a strange place and experience. it has clearly fallen on hard times with much of the property seemingly vacant. also a large number of the guests seem to be long term tenants of the hotel. the indoor pool was full but no one swimming in it and the hot tub was drained and not functional. they were having tile replaced in the lobby so was a bit hectic during my stay. the staff was friendly and helpful allowing for an early check in so i could complete some remote work i had to do. when checking out the next morning at 630 though the front desk person was full on head down on the counter drool coming out of his mouth asleep though. not a big deal really more comedic than anything. unsure if i would stay again as the room was not entirely clean but no bugs at least."
